Differing greatly from other Darkglass preamp and overdrive units the Alpha Omega utilises OP-amps and features two unique distortion circuits. Alpha provides a punchy tight sound with a huge amount of definition. Omega on the otherhand is brutal and raw and packed with power. These can be selected or blended using the Mod control knob. With this inventive control alongside the Growl and Bite toggle switches and the high-quality three-band active EQ controls the Darkglass Alpha Omega is an insanely flexible unit. . The clean signal remains at unity gain while the volume of the overdriven signal is set by the Level knob allowing for fine control of the blend ratio. Level: Sets the volume of the overdriven signal. Drive: Sets the amount of saturation in the overdriven signal. Bite: Boosts High Mids (2.8kHz) for additional presence and definition. Growl: Shelving Bass Boost for a fatter tone and increased low end saturation.
