Description

The Revv G4 Distortion Pedal is in New condition and made by Revv , it is a great Pedal Distortion G4 Revv Guitar Effect Pedal – Its an 80s British stack built in Canada that can fit in the palm of your hand. The Revv G4 distortion pedal captures all the 80s rock sound. The G4 has a character changing gain section labelled Aggression. You can scoop up modern heavy tones on top of the open old school vibe. Thats what sits at the soul of this box – its an aggressive but dynamic unit. The EQ is powerful – giving huge tonal sculpting options that go far beyond its initial sound. With the two aggression modes you get a blue channel that adds drive and bite to the treble and a red channel that is very extreme. Adding more gain bass and bite whilst further dipping the midrange – giving a huge aggressive tone. . Available from Guitar Pedals Amps & Stuff for only £ 215 – The 80s in a box Born from the 4th channel of the Revv Generator the G4 is all that snarl grind and natural compression at your feet. It has an old school metal vibe to it. Thick and dynamic its really great for chunky rhythm playing. It will push beyond that 80s sound into very modern territories. With a down-tuned guitar at full crank with the red mode engaged you can get into extreme and aggressive metal. The G4 also has another trick up its sleeve. By dialling the gain right back adding a little midrange and switching the aggression mode off you can get into big open sounding classic rock tones – This is the 80s rock multi-tool! Powerful and expressive EQ Each one of the three tone pots has an extensive range that can really affect the size of the sound as well as the tone. With the bass down it can sound like you are playing a raunchy small amp. But when you increase it a sense of weight starts to bloom from your amp – its a little like adding a 4 x 12 cabinet. The midrange is expressive forward and large at full tilt. When scooping the pedal compensates by adding extra harmonic content to the bass and treble and this is where things get aggressive and tight. Then furthering that sound the treble can add a fierce bite but that sometimes needs a little taming. Turned all the way to the right the treble is upfront and intense. If you are taking sounds to the extreme or just want to access a gigantic range of sounds then you cant go wrong here. From subtle drive to audible aggression There are two other modes which shape and alter the gain: the red and blue position. The blue position has a touch more gain with a tighter midrange adding a more aggressive quality to the trebles. On the red channel you get an absurd increase in gain that leads to a different quality to the mids and top end. Its thick and heavy lending itself to chunky leads with strong overtones – making sure you stand out in any mix. Distortion

Distortion is a guitar effect that alters the signal’s waveform, creating a gritty, aggressive sound characterized by a high level of harmonic content and sustain. It’s achieved by amplifying the input signal to the point where the amplifier or pedal’s circuitry begins to clip, causing the waveform to become squared off and jagged. This clipping produces harmonics that weren’t present in the original signal, resulting in the characteristic “gritty” or “dirty” tone associated with distortion. Distortion pedals typically feature controls for adjusting the amount of gain or distortion applied, as well as tone-shaping knobs to tailor the sound’s frequency response. Distortion is widely used in rock, metal, and punk music to add power, aggression, and sustain to guitar solos, riffs, and rhythm parts, creating a bold and intense sonic impact in the mix. Popular distortion pedals include the Boss DS-1, Pro Co Rat, and Electro-Harmonix Big Muff Pi.
