Description

The EarthQuaker Devices Plumes Small Signal Shredder Overdrive is in New condition and made by EarthQuaker Devices , it is a great Overdrive Shredder Signal Small Plumes Devices EarthQuaker Guitar Effect Pedal – Earthquaker devices have never been content with normalcy or straight-up clones. The Plumes Small Signal Shredder is no different. Taking its inspiration from a little green box that shouted at tubes and then deciding there was a much more interesting and exciting way to go about accomplishing that illustrious tone its a simply stunning overdrive pedal. In essence this is a light to medium gain overdrive but that would be like saying Jimi Hendrix was just a guitarist. Put this box in front of your amp and listen to it truly open-up giving it a transparent vibe. But that isnt where this pedal ends. The Plumes includes three different clipping modes with varying amounts of gain symmetrical LED asymmetrical silicon and no diode OpAmp drive which all have wonderfully distinctive characters depending on your vibe. . Available from Guitar Pedals Amps & Stuff for only £ 111 – Simple but not stupid There is a welcomed simplicity here but that in no way inhibits what this pedal can do. It can be a beautiful clean boost that will add power to your signal. Just before the breakup there is a big and bold clean tone which – combined with vintage single coils – will blow you away. You will start making your other overdrives jealous – its harmonically massive rich and crunchy. Sometimes the originals aren’t better The asymmetrical clipping mode is the most familiar setting of the famous ‘green box’ but in the Plumes it features some great improvements. First of all there is a much stronger signal processing which significantly improves clarity chime and overall output. Next the tone control has also been tweaked making it far more usable across the whole range – you get a tighter bass response that doesn’t impede on the midrange and the trebles. This mode perfects ‘80s classic rock especially with anything loaded with P.A.Fs. Perfecting the tap dance Earthquaker have a very open approach to how their pedals can be used and this is no exception. The Plumes uses a soft touch Flexi-Switch™ which allows for two distinctive modes. A familiar latching switch so when you stomp on it it stays on and without the annoying audible click. But it’s the momentary switch that’s clever. You can easily use it to articulate very fast passages by simply keeping your foot down and as soon as you lift your foot the pedal disengages. So if you are more experimentally inclined and like to jump around your pedals within a riff or phrase this makes life a lot easier. Overdrive

Overdrive is a type of guitar effect that simulates the natural distortion that occurs when a tube amplifier is pushed beyond its clean limit. Overdrive pedals achieve this by boosting the input signal of the guitar, causing the amplifier to saturate and produce a warm, saturated, and crunchy sound.

Overdrive pedals are commonly used in various styles of music, including rock, blues, and punk, to add grit, sustain, and harmonic richness to the guitar’s sound. They are versatile tools that can be used to achieve a wide range of tones, from subtle breakup to full-on distortion, depending on the settings and the amplifier being used. Some classic examples of overdrive pedals include the Ibanez Tube Screamer, the Boss OD-1, and the Fulltone OCD, among others
