This will “round” out your low-end for a more natural defined sound. 630Hz – A moderate cut of around 2-3dB can be a real asset for dealing with “mud” and boxiness” on distorted guitars. 1.6kHz – If you’re struggling to cut through and be heard then a midrange boost at 1.6Khz will certainly do the trick. This will add more “bite” to your tone by bringing out transient detail such as pick attack. Alternatively if your tone sounds too “aggressive” then a cut here can help restore the natural balance. 4kHz – Fancy a little more presence? Boost 4kHz to add definition to your sound. A 1-2dB boost here will instantly give you that “record-ready” sound.
