Description

The Strymon El Capistan V2 dTape Delay Pedal is in New condition and made by Strymon , it is a great Pedal Delay dTape V2 Capistan El Strymon Guitar Effect Pedal – The Strymon El Capistan V2 dTape Delay Pedal is a machine which harkens back to the delay tones of old. Strymon have painstakingly developed the technology and innovated to bring you a plethora of vintage delay voicings with three tape head options consisting of multi single and fixed. The Tape Age dial is a particular showpiece. It allows you to change between the voicing of a brand new tape delay machine all the way to an old semi-functioning one. This produces some truly spectacular results giving you a crystal-clear sound all the way to a hauntingly beautiful stuttering effect (mimicking an aged tape). Building on the expansive control set of its predecessor this newer version of El Capistan comes with built-in spring reverb. After all delay and reverb are the ultimate dream team and this reverb adds some serious spice. Full MIDI compatibility has been added as well as a premium analogue JFET input circuit along with a mono/stereo switch. To top it all off the new ARM DSP chip gives this pedal even more processing power contributing further detail to your music and consuming less energy on your pedalboard. But this is just scratching the surface of El Capistans capabilities… . Available from Guitar Pedals Amps & Stuff for only £ 359 – The age of tape As vintage as it gets. Before the introduction of digital stompboxes the delay or slapback effect had to be produced through actual tapes. One tape would record what was being played and the other would play that recording moments after producing what we now call… delay! Unlike digital stompboxes which retain the same tone forever old school tapes would continually wear down which significantly altered the sound of the delay. El Capistan pays homage to this with one of the most unique and powerful tools youll ever see on a delay stompbox – the Tape Age dial. This beauty changes the voicing of the effect from that of a sparkling new tape to that of one which has been used for years. The result? Possibly the most dynamic and addictive delays ever. Go from a clean punchy voicing to a haunting warble simply by flicking the dial. Immersive control And then theres the rest of the dials. Youve got your standard Time Mix and Repeats to help you shape the nature and intensity of the delay. This is alongside the premium new spring reverb built into this pedal. Then theres the Wow and Flutter knob which takes all the different details and quirks of the moving parts of old tape echo machines and puts them into a single control. So it gives you the ability to determine how many wobbles and pitch modulations you inject into the overall delay effect. This again imitates how an analogue tape echo would respond (or change its response) over time. Finally the Tape Head and Mode switches give you the option to select how many virtual tape heads youre running the effect through. New and improved Out with the old. In with the new! This may be a vintage-style pedal but this new version has some superb modern improvements. Firstly MIDI implementation through the EXP/MIDI jack means you can add further control changing different parameters with MIDI commands – ideal for live shows. JFET circuitry has been added to the input jack to give it an even more analogue feel as well as excellent dynamics. Finally the ARM DSP chip adds more processing power meaning a tighter more fluid response and less power consumption across the board. Delay

Delay is a time-based guitar effect that produces echoes or repetitions of the original signal after a certain amount of time has passed. It works by recording the incoming audio signal and then playing it back with a slight delay, creating the perception of multiple instances of the sound occurring over time. Delay pedals typically offer controls for adjusting parameters such as delay time, feedback (the number of repeats), and level (the volume of the delayed signal). By manipulating these controls, guitarists can create a wide range of delay effects, from subtle ambiance to rhythmic patterns and spacious soundscapes. Delay is commonly used in various music genres, including rock, pop, ambient, and electronic music, to add depth, dimension, and texture to guitar solos, rhythm parts, and atmospheric passages. Popular delay pedal models include the TC Electronic Flashback, Boss DD-7 Digital Delay, and Strymon Timeline.
