Available from Guitar Pedals Amps & Stuff for only £ 139 – Get fuzzy From crackly to crunch from smooth to full on fuzz the B1K can voice it all. Set your level of grit through the “Level” and “Drive” controls on the front of the pedal. “Level” sets the volume of the overdriven signal while the “Drive” setting will determine how saturated your tone will be. And believe us that can be seriously saturated enough to please those looking for the darkest gnarliest soundscapes! Blend and tone Underneath the B1K are a few extra options to sculpt your sound. Firstly the “blend” setting will introduce clean signal into the overdrive with the clean being set at unity gain. The overdriven signal is controlled by the level dial so you’ll get fine control over exactly how much dirt passes through to your amp. On the other side is a “tone” control that affects the higher frequencies of the sound. There’s a low pass filter installed here so you can influence and shape the signal to your exact liking. Turn it anti-clockwise to let a brighter sound shine through or roll it clockwise to dampen those higher frequencies and let the bass ring out. Secret weapons The B1k boasts some secret reserves of musical spice to enhance your tone. Those are the “MBoost” and “Grunt” DIP switches on the bottom of the peal. Need to cut through the mix? Switch on MBoost and enjoy a small DB injection to lift your sound above the mix. Want the sound to get thick and syrupy? Engage the Grunt switch and reveal those super heavy bass booms. Distortion

Distortion is a guitar effect that alters the signal’s waveform, creating a gritty, aggressive sound characterized by a high level of harmonic content and sustain. It’s achieved by amplifying the input signal to the point where the amplifier or pedal’s circuitry begins to clip, causing the waveform to become squared off and jagged. This clipping produces harmonics that weren’t present in the original signal, resulting in the characteristic “gritty” or “dirty” tone associated with distortion. Distortion pedals typically feature controls for adjusting the amount of gain or distortion applied, as well as tone-shaping knobs to tailor the sound’s frequency response. Distortion is widely used in rock, metal, and punk music to add power, aggression, and sustain to guitar solos, riffs, and rhythm parts, creating a bold and intense sonic impact in the mix. Popular distortion pedals include the Boss DS-1, Pro Co Rat, and Electro-Harmonix Big Muff Pi.
