The Gibson SG Special is one of the most recognisable electric guitars in the world. Renowned for it's sleek double cut design, exceptional playability and fat, snarling P-90 tones, the SG Special returns to the classic design that made it rock royalty in the 1960s!

Construction

The SG Special features Gibson’s signature tried and trusted tonewood combinations. The Mahogany body delivers focused lows and a rich mid-range attack while the set Mahogany neck gives the SG fantastic sustain and warmth despite it's thin design. Adorned with a silky smooth Rosewood fingerboard, you can effortlessly glide up and down the Slim Taper profile neck with unrivalled access to the upper frets.

Electronics

The SG Special is loaded with a pair of P-90 pickups, renowned for their fat snarl when driven and their smooth sweetness when played clean. With individual volume and tone controls for each pickup and a 3-way toggle switch, the SG Special is capable of delivering an array of articulate tones making it incredibly versatile.

Hardware

The SG Special is equipped with a super comfortable compensated wraparound bridge with chrome plating to extend its lifetime before patina sets in. The Graph Tech nut ensures excellent sound transfer and a set of vintage deluxe tuners with white buttons provide reliable tuning stability. This guitar is designed to be played hard and it will not let you down!

More info about this Product

Electric Guitars

Electric guitars use magnetic pickups to convert string vibration into an electrical signal, allowing the sound to be shaped through amplifiers and effects. Key things to understand include body shape, pickup type, neck profile, scale length and bridge design, as these all affect tone, feel and sustain. They are used across almost every modern genre, from clean and expressive to high-gain and aggressive styles, making them one of the most versatile instruments available.

SG

The Gibson SG (Solid Guitar) is a rock icon with attitude. Introduced in the early 1960s, it took the Les Paul’s power and gave it a sharper, lighter, double-cut design for faster access to higher frets. Its twin humbuckers deliver raw, biting tone and endless sustain — perfect for everything from blues to heavy rock. Played by legends like Angus Young and Tony Iommi, the SG proves that simplicity, style, and sheer power never go out of fashion.
