Ibanez PNB14E-OPN Electro Acoustic Bass Guitar in Open Pore Natural is an acoustic guitar.

Description

An acoustic bass is a distinctive instrument, with a unique sound of its own. Producing a rounded, earthy tone, these instruments are in their element when used as part of an entire acoustic ensemble. The Ibanez PNB14E-OPN puts a more portable, modern spin on the traditional acoustic bass, with its ergonomic parlor-style body shape and electro-acoustic design.

Construction

The back and sides are crafted from laminate, with a mahogany top – producing a deep and rich tone that gives notes all of the bottom-end you'll need. Despite its small body, this bass still offers great projection and resonance, able to sound punchy and defined in a live or studio mix.

Electronics

This bass has a cleverly disguised pickup mounted under the bridge saddle, able to translate all of this instrument's tonal goodness through an amplifier or PA system. The onboard AEQ-2T preamp will ensure amazing clarity, giving the signal a robust push. A built-in tuner also means that you can easily check your tuning on the fly.

Electro-Acoustic

Electro-acoustic guitars are acoustic instruments fitted with built-in pickups or microphones that allow them to be amplified or connected directly to a PA system or amplifier. They retain the natural acoustic tone and feel of a traditional acoustic guitar while adding the convenience of onboard electronics.

They are commonly used for live performance and recording, especially in situations where consistent volume and clarity are needed. Electro-acoustic guitars often include controls for volume and tone, and sometimes built-in tuners, making them a practical choice for gigging musicians who want an acoustic sound with modern flexibility.

Natural

Natural guitars showcase the beauty of the wood itself, with finishes that highlight the grain, colour, and character of each piece. Favoured by players who appreciate simplicity and authenticity, natural finishes let the instrument’s craftsmanship and tonewoods speak for themselves. Whether it’s the warm glow of mahogany or the bright shimmer of maple, a natural guitar has a timeless, organic look that never goes out of style. These instruments often feel more connected to their acoustic roots, offering both visual elegance and a sense of purity that appeals to musicians across all genres.
