Description

The PRS Archon is a modern classic. Greek for “ruler” or “lord,” the mighty Archon is a commanding 2-channel amp revered for its monstrous high-gain tones, sparkling cleans and engulfing headroom. This 50-watt Archon combo is perfectly-suited for small to medium-sized venues, with its compact “grab and go” design making it easy to take to gigs, rehearsals and the studio.

Offering a remarkably responsive feel with incredible note separation, the Archon is a real player’s amplifier — whether you’re playing lush arpeggios on the clean channel or chugging on the lead!

Key Features

  • Five Gain Stages — Several stages before the master volume means that the Archon’s lead channel is voiced to cover everything from classic rock to metal with full, addictive distortion.
  • Spellbinding Clean Channel — Provides warm yet vibrant tones that retain clarity even at high volumes. There is ample headroom too, creating an excellent platform for pedals!
  • 6CA7 Power Tubes — Fall between EL34 and 6L6 tubes, offering the best of both worlds. 6CA7’s are full and articulate with smooth high-end and tight low-end. They chug, distort and get heavy without over-saturating.
  • Intuitive Tone-Shaping — Each channel features volume, treble, middle, bass and master volume controls as well as a bright switch to sweeten the highs.
  • Global Presence & Depth Controls — Work to modify the feedback network of the amp to unleash the potential of the top-end and low-end respectively.
  • Tube-Driven Effects Loop — Allows you to seamlessly integrate your favourite time-based and modulation stompboxes.
  • Celestion V-Type Speaker — Projects full, extended lows and sweet mid-range.
  • 1-Button Footswitch — Included switch lets you easily change channels on-the-fly.

Amps

Guitar amps cover everything needed to amplify, shape, and project your guitar sound, from small practice setups to full stage and studio rigs. In this category you’ll find combo amps, separate amp heads and speaker cabinets, covering valve, solid-state, and hybrid designs, each offering a different feel and response. You’ll also see modelling and digital amps, built-in effects, footswitches, attenuation solutions, replacement speakers, valves, and essential accessories to keep an amp performing at its best. Whether you’re chasing pristine cleans, classic crunch, or modern high-gain tones, guitar amps and related gear are all about finding the right balance of power, tone, and control for the way you play.

Combo Amps

Combo amps combine an amplifier and speaker into a single, self-contained unit, making them a practical and popular choice for many players. They’re easy to transport, simple to set up, and available in a wide range of power ratings, from small practice amps to powerful stage-ready models. Combo amps come in valve, solid-state, hybrid, and digital designs, often with built-in effects and tone controls. Their all-in-one nature makes them ideal for home use, rehearsals, recording, and live performance where convenience and reliable tone matter.

1×12

1×12 refers to a speaker configuration with one 12-inch speaker, most commonly found in guitar amplifiers and speaker cabinets. It offers a balanced combination of clarity, low-end response, and projection, making it a versatile choice for both home use and live performance.

Compared to smaller speaker setups, a 1×12 delivers a fuller sound with more body, while remaining more compact and portable than larger multi-speaker cabinets. It is popular with players who want strong tone and punch without the weight and volume of a 2×12 or 4×12 setup.
