Description

The PAF is arguably the leading pickup from Monty’s – a faithful reconstruction of the PAF’s used in ’58-’60 Les Paul Standards. Part of their Originals range, they’ve successfully delivered a brilliant tone. This variation features a Nickel finish.

Crisp Clarity

Playing lightly will produce a wonderfully clear tone, but they can also sound massive when you decide to push them further.

Popular Choice

The PAF is one of the best-selling pickups from Monty’s. They make such a nice sound that you’ll keep coming back to your guitar again and again.

Non-Wax Potted

This results in unparalleled dynamism and sensitivity, while two slightly offset coils add impressively large top-end response.

Here’s what Monty’s Guitars say about the Originals

Our sonic recreations of real vintage pickups, the Originals series is the bread and butter of Monty’s pickup universe. Over the last 20 years, we’ve been fortunate enough to see, repair and play countless examples of basically every vintage pickup imaginable. While not every old pickup is particularly good (in fact, we’ve seen some absolute shockers in our time), the best of them are simply divine. We’ve worked out what it is that makes these tonal titans tick and distilled their essence into each and every one of our originals series pickups. If you’re after pure vintage tone, these are the pickups for you.

Electric Guitars

Electric guitars use magnetic pickups to convert string vibration into an electrical signal, allowing the sound to be shaped through amplifiers and effects. Key things to understand include body shape, pickup type, neck profile, scale length and bridge design, as these all affect tone, feel and sustain. They are used across almost every modern genre, from clean and expressive to high-gain and aggressive styles, making them one of the most versatile instruments available.

Les Paul

A Les Paul is a solid body electric guitar known for its thick, powerful tone, strong sustain, and classic single-cutaway shape. It is commonly associated with warm, rich sounds and is well suited to rock, blues, jazz, and heavier styles, thanks to its mahogany body, carved top, and typically humbucker-loaded pickups that deliver depth, punch, and smooth overdrive characteristics.
