Description

The Gibson Thunderbird in Ebony is a bold unmistakable bass that combines iconic design with powerful low-end performance. First introduced in 1963 the Thunderbird broke new ground with its offset body shape and it still stands out today with the same striking presence. This modern version keeps that classic reverse body style built from solid mahogany for a rich resonant tone with plenty of depth and sustain. The raised centre section nods to its original neck-through design while delivering a balanced feel thats comfortable for extended playing sessions. Equipped with two EB bass humbuckers the Thunderbird produces a thick punchy sound with strong output and clarity across the frequency range. A SlimTaper mahogany neck offers a fast comfortable playing experience paired with a 34″ scale length for tight defined lows. Modern updates like Hipshot Ultralite tuners and a Hipshot Supertone bridge improve tuning stability and balance making this a reliable stage-ready bass with unmistakable Gibson character.
