Description

The Gibson Custom LE 1957 Les Paul Goldtop Reissue in Double Gold is a stunning tribute to one of the most important guitars in rock history. Part of a limited Custom Shop run, it blends period-correct construction with Murphy Lab Light Ageing to deliver the feel, sound and look of a well-loved late 50s original, straight out of the case. Built around the classic mahogany body and maple top recipe, this Goldtop offers the depth, punch and harmonic richness that made the original 1957 models so coveted. A pair of Custombucker Alnico 3 humbuckers capture that unmistakable late 50s clarity and warmth, while the Light Aged nitrocellulose finish and aged hardware give you the vibe and character of a guitar that has already lived a lifetime on stage. The substantial 1950s Chunky D neck profile, long neck tenon and rosewood fingerboard combine to create a playing experience that feels instantly familiar if you love vintage Gibsons. Medium jumbo frets, a 12 inch radius and nylon nut keep things comfortable and precise, whether you are digging into big bends or laying down intricate chord work. Every detail has been considered to deliver a faithful yet inspiring take on a true classic. From the zebra bobbin humbuckers and aged black plastics to the gold Top Hat knobs and nickel ABR-1 hardware, this limited edition Goldtop is as much a collector-grade piece as it is a serious performance instrument. It is a powerful, expressive Les Paul that rewards every touch, and a fitting homage to one of the most iconic designs in the Gibson story. Murphy Lab Light Aged Double Gold Finish The Light Aged nitrocellulose lacquer finish in Double Gold has been carefully worked by the Murphy Lab to recreate the gentle checking, softened edges and subtle wear of a vintage original. It feels broken-in from day one, helping you connect with the guitar immediately and giving you the visual mojo of a road-tested 50s Goldtop. Classic Mahogany and Maple Construction A solid mahogany body with no weight relief and a maple top deliver the thick, sustaining voice that defines a great Les Paul. The mahogany provides warmth and low-end punch, while the maple adds cut and definition, ensuring your riffs and solos stay clear and present in any mix. 1950s Chunky D Neck with Long Tenon The mahogany neck features a 1950s Chunky D profile and a long neck tenon for maximum contact with the body. This gives you a substantial, confidence-inspiring grip and enhances sustain and resonance, making every note feel solid and authoritative under the fingers. Custombucker Alnico 3 Pickups A Custombucker Alnico 3 in the neck and a Custombucker Plus Alnico 3 in the bridge deliver authentic late 50s humbucker tones, from sweet, singing cleans to rich, harmonically complex overdrive. The zebra bobbins add a distinctive visual twist while the traditional 2 volume, 2 tone and 3 way toggle layout gives you a wide range of usable sounds. Key Features Murphy Lab Light Aged Nitro Finish – The Light Aged nitrocellulose lacquer in Double Gold recreates the look and feel of a naturally worn vintage Goldtop, complete with subtle checking and softened edges, so the guitar feels played in and inspiring from the first chord. Mahogany Body with Maple Top – A solid mahogany body paired with a maple top delivers the classic Les Paul recipe of warmth, sustain and clarity, giving you a powerful, three dimensional tone that works for everything from blues to hard rock. 1950s Chunky D Neck Profile – The substantial 1950s Chunky D neck and long neck tenon provide a reassuringly solid feel and enhanced resonance, ideal for players who like to dig in and want maximum sustain and note definition. Custombucker Alnico 3 Electronics – With a Custombucker Alnico 3 in the neck and a Custombucker Plus Alnico 3 in the bridge, controlled by 2 volumes, 2 tones and a 3 way toggle, you get a wide palette of authentic late 50s humbucker tones, from smooth, woody cleans to punchy, driven lead sounds.
