The EVH Striped Series Frankenstein Frankie in Aged Black with Yellow Stripes is a stage-ready tribute to one of the most famous guitars in rock history. Channelling the attitude, look and feel of Eddie Van Halen’s original Frankenstrat, this limited model delivers red-hot Wolfgang humbucker tones, rock-solid Floyd Rose performance and that iconic black/yellow striped aesthetic in a road-worn satin finish. It’s even got a handy EVH D-Tuna for those times you wanna chug in drop D! Classic “Frankie” look, aged to perfection This limited edition guitar captures the black and yellow incarnation of Eddie’s legendary Frankenstrat, complete with aged satin lacquer and distressed black hardware for an authentic, been-on-tour vibe. The custom Frankie pickguard, dummy five-way blade and skirted volume knob labelled “tone” all nod to the OG guitar’s hot-rodded, DIY aesthetic. Fast & comfy EVH neck The graphite-reinforced quartersawn Maple neck with a modified “C” backshape is built for stability and speed. An oiled finish feels smooth and broken-in from day one, while the 12 to 16-inch compound radius fingerboard with 22 jumbo frets keeps chords comfortable at the lower end and bends choke-free higher up the neck. It’s practically invites fast runs, wide vibrato and expressive phrasing. Wolfgang power, simple switching At the heart of Frankie is a direct-mount EVH Wolfgang humbucking bridge pickup, voiced for tight lows, cutting mids and singing highs that excel with gain. The guitar is routed HSS like Eddie’s original, with a dummy Strat neck pickup and a dummy five-way blade in the middle position. Pickup selection is handled by the push/push volume control, letting you flip between the bridge humbucker and the neck position at the tap of a finger while keeping the control layout clean and uncluttered. Floyd Rose stability & instant drop D An EVH-branded Floyd Rose locking tremolo and R3 locking nut provide solid tuning even under extreme whammy bar abuse. The brass tremolo block enhances sustain and punch, while the EVH D-Tuna lets you switch between standard tuning and drop D in seconds.
