Description

The Taylor Legacy Collection Collection This retrospective family of guitars honors the Legacy Collection of Taylor founders Bob Taylor and Kurt Listug and their contributions to the world of guitar-making with models that channel Bob’s early inspirations and design innovations. The first 100 guitars built of each model feature an interior label personally signed by Taylor founders Bob Taylor and Kurt Listug. Legacy 810e The Legacy 810e brings a traditional body shape back into the fold: the Dreadnought, arguably the most recognizable of all acoustic guitar body styles, which has more recently evolved into the Grand Pacific (a round-shouldered Dreadnought) elsewhere in the Taylor line. This rosewood/spruce model channels the spirit of Bob’s earliest builds with room-filling volume and projection, complemented by the warmth and treble-range clarity players love in the classic wood pairing. Like other models in the Legacy Collection, the 810e blends the modern with the classic, featuring today’s patented Taylor neck, scalloped bracing and a straight-ear peghead shape that hearkens back to the company’s Lemon Grove days. Aesthetic appointments reflect Bob’s clean, classic style with white plastic binding, a three-ring rosette in green abalone, non-engraved Large Diamond fretboard inlays in mother-of-pearl, ebony bridge pins with green abalone dots, a faux-tortoiseshell pickguard, nickel tuning machines, and a gloss finish for both the body and the neck. Features Solid Indian rosewood back and sides with Sitka spruce top Dreadnought body with scalloped bracing for exceptional volume and projection Straight-ear peghead and other classic visual details LR Baggs Element VTC undersaddle pickup with soundhole-mounted controls

More info about this Product

Acoustic Guitars

Acoustic guitars produce their sound naturally through the vibration of the strings and body, offering a direct and expressive playing experience. They come in a wide range of styles, including steel string and classical designs, each with its own feel and tonal character. Body shape, wood choice, and construction all influence warmth, projection, and balance, making acoustics suitable for everything from gentle fingerstyle to confident strumming. Whether used for songwriting, practice, or performance, acoustic guitars provide a simple, honest connection between the player and the music.

Electro-Acoustic Guitars

Electro-acoustic guitars combine the natural sound and feel of an acoustic guitar with built-in electronics for amplification. Fitted with pickups and preamp controls, they allow you to plug directly into an amp, PA system, or recording setup while retaining an acoustic character. They’re ideal for live performance, rehearsal, and home recording, offering volume control and tonal adjustment without relying solely on microphones. Electro-acoustic guitars suit players who want the warmth and responsiveness of an acoustic instrument with the flexibility to play amplified when needed.

The most useful differences include scale length, construction, pickup type, neck profile, materials and whether the instrument is intended for amplified, acoustic or hybrid use. Use the narrower guitar categories and feature tags to compare instruments with similar designs rather than relying on appearance alone.
