The Mooer Preamp Live is an ultra-modern, pedalboard-friendly unit that can serve as the centrepiece of your entire guitar rig. In the 21st Century, it has been apparent that more guitarists have been keen to downsize their setups and make them as portable as possible.

Mooer has fully embraced this change in direction within the industry, and the Preamp Live is another innovative addition to their product line. Boasting plenty of flexible functions, this powerful pedal can essentially replace your amplifier – without sacrificing tone!

Unparalleled Versatility

Packed with 50 convincing emulations of genuine tube amplifiers, as well as 30 different cab simulations, saying that the Preamp Live is versatile is an understatement. With 3 preset banks containing 12 channels, you can easily flick between a host of sounds on the fly via the Preamp Live’s dedicated footswtiches. With integrated MIDI, you can also use an external MIDI device (like a pedal switcher) to change patches for you.

Accommodating for players of all styles, you can attain high-headroom F-style clean tones and even stretch all the way to high-gain brutality! No matter what styles you play, Mooer has ensured that every genre is covered.

Boasting a full 4-band EQ section (Bass, Mid, Treble and Presence), you can easily manipulate your tones just like on a traditional guitar amplifier, with Mooer ensuring that traditionalists are catered for. A built-in Boost section can be used to great effect when playing solos, and an integrated noise gate lets you tame any excessive noise when using a high-gain setting. With the ability to apply these effects pre and post, you can route these in the most effective ways you see fit.

Modern Features

As a whole, the Preamp Live is a super-modern piece of equipment, but there are some particular features that make it a cut above the rest. Featuring a built-in effects loop, you can run external effects pedals through the Preamp Live, just like you can with a traditional amplifier. This means that if you have time-based or modulation pedals like delay, reverb, chorus or phaser, you can run them seamlessly through the Preamp Live.

With 30 built-in cab simulations, the Preamp Live is already diverse enough when it comes to sonic possibilities. However, if you’re super fastidious about your tone and have some favourite cabinet sounds, the Preamp Live can also support 3rd party IRs (impulse responses). With its USB input, you can import these IRs via the dedicated Preamp Live software (Windows/Mac), or even use the free mobile app (Android/iOS) for similar control.

The beauty of the Preamp Live’s cab simulation is that it allows you to record directly into an audio interface and achieve genuine mic’d up cab sounds, without the pain of setting up real microphones in an expensive studio! With an XLR output and a standard jack output, the Preamp Live is compatible with most recording devices, and can be plugged directly into a PA system in a live environment too..

Stuff About Guitar Pedals

Guitar pedals are compact effects units that shape and enhance a guitar’s sound, sitting between the instrument and the amplifier. They include gain pedals like overdrive and distortion, modulation effects such as chorus and tremolo, time-based effects like delay and reverb, and essential utilities including tuners, compressors and loopers. Understanding basic things such as pedal type, signal order, power requirements and intended use helps players choose pedals that suit their style, setup and playing environment.

The Important stuff

Multi. Pedal — Pedals are the tools that let you shape, colour and transform your sound, from subtle tone enhancement to bold, creative effects. Whether you are adding grit, space, movement or control, a pedal becomes part of your playing rather than just an add-on. Exploring different pedals is about discovering what responds to your touch and helps your sound feel more like your own.. preamp.
