Description

The Gamechanger Audio Plasma Pedal Distortion Pedal is In stock available now for fast UK delivery online for £249 + Delivery. This excellent piece of kit is manufactured by Gamechanger Audio and in New condition and comes with a great warranty.

The Plasma Pedal embodies a revolutionary approach to overdrive and distortion; it's an entirely new and previously unexplored method of achieving signal clipping. Instead of using LED circuits, transistors or vacuum tubes to produce overdrive, the Plasma Pedal transforms your instrument's live signal into a series of continuous high-voltage discharges within a xenon-filled tube – sounds pretty sci-fi, right?

You're essentially playing a bolt of electricity, and the electrical discharges produced by your instrument are instantly converted back into an analog audio signal – this produces a quick, responsive, and extremely powerful distortion with tons of unique character! To top it off, the xenon tube is exposed via a transparent panel on the front of the pedal, so you can literally see your supercharged guitar signal reacting in real-time!

Natural Noise Gate

By maxing out the blend knob, you can achieve a fully wet signal, produced only by the gas-discharge tube. This means that as soon as you stop playing, the electrical discharge within the gas-filled tube is interrupted, and the pedal will not produce any output signal at all. This means total silence when you mute your strings or stop playing, so you can go from total distorted chaos to zero sound in a split second – it has to be heard to be believed!

Unique Harmonic Saturation

The Plasma Pedal converts your instrument's signal into a rapid series of electric discharges, which results in a large amount of non-linear harmonic saturation that causes extremely rich and responsive attacks, and brings out sharp, screeching overtones and soaring harmonics. These harmonic artifacts, produced as a byproduct of the high-voltage discharge, are uncommon in traditional signal amplification. The Plasma Pedal's sound is truly unlike anything you will have heard before.

Crush Any Sound

The Plasma Pedal is designed primarily for guitarists, but that's not to say it can't be used elsewhere! Stick it in front of some analog percussion loops for a glitchy, apocalyptic sound, or drench your soft piano parts for a charged, lo-fi ambience. It'll add heaps of colourful distorted fun to anything – a Gamechanger indeed!

Distortion

Distortion is a guitar effect that alters the signal’s waveform, creating a gritty, aggressive sound characterized by a high level of harmonic content and sustain. It’s achieved by amplifying the input signal to the point where the amplifier or pedal’s circuitry begins to clip, causing the waveform to become squared off and jagged. This clipping produces harmonics that weren’t present in the original signal, resulting in the characteristic “gritty” or “dirty” tone associated with distortion. Distortion pedals typically feature controls for adjusting the amount of gain or distortion applied, as well as tone-shaping knobs to tailor the sound’s frequency response. Distortion is widely used in rock, metal, and punk music to add power, aggression, and sustain to guitar solos, riffs, and rhythm parts, creating a bold and intense sonic impact in the mix. Popular distortion pedals include the Boss DS-1, Pro Co Rat, and Electro-Harmonix Big Muff Pi.
