The Boss MT-2W Metal Zone Waza Craft Distortion Pedal is In stock available now for fast UK delivery online for £126 + Delivery. This excellent piece of kit is manufactured by Boss and in New condition and comes with a great warranty.

The Boss MT-2W Waza Craft distortion pedal is a re-imagining of the famous Metal Zone stompbox first released in 1991. Featuring an all-new voicing, superior circuitry and Boss' renowned build quality, the MT-2W returns in dramatic fashion under the new Waza Craft name.

Most of you would have owned a Metal Zone at some point over the last two decades. Love it or hate it, the MT-2 defined the scooped mids and processed high-gain tones featured prominently on heavy records throughout the '90s.

Sound

The MT-2W reflects the progressive changes in the 21st Century metal scene. Guitarists are now after tighter lows, punchier mids, dynamic gain and articulate highs, which is exactly what the MT-2W provides.

Guitar signals pass through two switchable gain circuits in the MT-2W. The first has been overhauled to widen its range. By updating the first circuit with discrete components, Waza Craft have increased the expression and tone density.

Flick the switch to Custom mode and it cuts muddy low-end and boosts the gain’s vibrancy. Turn down the volume on the guitar to hear a clearer crunch sound; this is the real party trick of the MT-2W.

Unique Tone Shaping

Whatever you think of the original Metal Zone, you can’t deny its flexible EQ section. The Waza model carries over the same controls, but thanks to the redesign, is even more sensitive than before.

Down-tuned guitars will benefit from a faster attack and cut thanks to the MT-2W. Boss recommend you dial in the mids knob from 12 o’clock and decide whether you want to boost or cut the mid frequencies.

Waza Craft

In Japanese, ‘Waza’ means art or technique. That’s exactly why Boss assigned their best designers and engineers to the Waza Craft project. Their goal is to reach the pinnacle of guitar amp and effect design.

Premium Waza Craft pedals contain carefully picked transistor and capacitor components. These circuits produce exceptional analogue, transparent effects.

Distortion

Distortion is a guitar effect that alters the signal’s waveform, creating a gritty, aggressive sound characterized by a high level of harmonic content and sustain. It’s achieved by amplifying the input signal to the point where the amplifier or pedal’s circuitry begins to clip, causing the waveform to become squared off and jagged. This clipping produces harmonics that weren’t present in the original signal, resulting in the characteristic “gritty” or “dirty” tone associated with distortion. Distortion pedals typically feature controls for adjusting the amount of gain or distortion applied, as well as tone-shaping knobs to tailor the sound’s frequency response. Distortion is widely used in rock, metal, and punk music to add power, aggression, and sustain to guitar solos, riffs, and rhythm parts, creating a bold and intense sonic impact in the mix. Popular distortion pedals include the Boss DS-1, Pro Co Rat, and Electro-Harmonix Big Muff Pi.

About Boss

We have new and used Boss gear available on our website for fast direct delivery direct to you from across sellers in all areas of the USA & UK.

Since 1973, BOSS has pioneered the development of unique and innovative products for musicians of all styles and skill levels. From class-leading effects pedals, multi-effects, and Loop Stations to guitar synthesizers, amplifiers, and more, our trailblazing designs include several world firsts and have forever changed the way people make music.

BOSS has its roots in MEG Electronics, a dedicated guitar effects R&D division founded within Roland Corporation in 1973. The company was recast with the now-famous BOSS name and logo and introduced to the public the following year. Along with products that carry the BOSS brand, the BOSS engineering team has been involved with developing key Roland-branded guitar products since the beginning.

This spirit of innovation continues today as BOSS forges ahead with the creation of original, progressive, and impactful gear. And with plenty more exciting developments on the horizon, we’re looking forward to another half-century of musical evolution.
