Description

The ESP LTD Joe Duplantier JD-I is a purpose-built signature guitar designed around power clarity and simplicity. Developed with Gojira guitarist Joe Duplantier it reflects a stripped-back approach that removes distractions and puts the focus squarely on tone feel and dynamics. The solid mahogany body delivers a weighty authoritative voice with strong sustain making it ideal for heavy rhythm work and controlled lead playing. A familiar 25.5-inch scale length provides balanced string tension while the bolt-on three-piece roasted maple neck offers excellent stability and a fast responsive feel. The Macassar ebony fingerboard and stainless steel frets ensure smooth playability and long-term durability. Powered by a single DiMarzio JD Fortitude pickup and controlled via a lone volume knob the JD-I responds directly to pick attack and amplifier interaction. Finished in Silver Sunburst and supplied with a form-fit case it is built for players who value precision reliability and uncompromising tone.

More info about this Product

Electric Guitars

Electric guitars use magnetic pickups to convert string vibration into an electrical signal, allowing the sound to be shaped through amplifiers and effects. Key things to understand include body shape, pickup type, neck profile, scale length and bridge design, as these all affect tone, feel and sustain. They are used across almost every modern genre, from clean and expressive to high-gain and aggressive styles, making them one of the most versatile instruments available.

Explore electric, acoustic and bass guitars across a wide range of playing styles, body shapes and specifications. The most useful differences include scale length, construction, pickup type, neck profile, materials and whether the instrument is intended for amplified, acoustic or hybrid use. Use the narrower guitar categories and feature tags to compare instruments with similar designs rather than relying on appearance alone.
