Are you looking for a true fuzz experience that’s fuzzier than Elmo using a Van de Graaff generator? Look no further than the Fulltone 70-BC Fuzz Pedal! Don’t even glance at this little nut-case if you’re looking for a subtle sizzle, this is for the players who are searching for the full-on and fizzy personalities of authentic 1970’s fuzz!

Experience explosive performance with the 70-BC Fuzz Pedal from Fulltone. Purposefully combining two mismatched silicon transistors, incredible harmonic qualities have been achieved, giving you a pedal that’s as wild and outrageous as all of the Muppets put together!

In contradiction to its title, this is one pedal that won’t give you a ‘warm and fuzzy feeling’ inside… far from it! Pushing the level to its 10th position will completely blow your mind, so approach with caution! Its misleadingly mellow dark blue 16-gauge steel box, may stir calm and cool connotations, but don’t be fooled, this little powerhouse produces more insane fuzz than the Fulltone ’69 and boasts an additional mid control, giving you, the player, much-needed, extra clarity.

What Fulltone say about the 70-BC Fuzz Pedal:

Ever played an original FuzzFace from around 1970? (HINT: Not AT ALL the same sound as ones with the same namesake being mass-produced currently.) Ours has two intentionally mismatched (for harmonic content) silicon transistors that snarl and spit… not for the meek! If you put the “Fuzz” on 10 you will rip, and you might get all sorts of oscillation and weirdness… but that’s Rock. Don’t try using it with a wah wah… you can’t, and neither could Jimi, without it screaming and howling. You want polite and quiet? Go elsewhere. You want art in a box? Come on in.

Housed in a 16 gauge steel box and powder coated deep blue, this pedal is a bit unruly but with some warmth… ideal for older 4 input Marshall amps, it has much more FUZZ than the ’69 Pedal and includes a Mid control for extra clarity and cut.

I got my hands on Eric Johnson’s Blue Fuzzface that he used from Tones through Ah Via Musicom period (now owned by Ian Moore) and incorporated a few of its tonal secrets into the ’70 pedal with staggering sonic results!

Fuzz

Fuzz is a type of guitar effect that produces a highly distorted and saturated tone characterized by its thick, buzzy, and aggressive sound. It’s achieved by clipping the guitar’s signal in a way that creates extreme distortion and compression, resulting in a velvety, sustaining fuzziness. Fuzz pedals typically feature controls for adjusting parameters such as gain (the amount of distortion), tone (the frequency response of the fuzzed signal), and volume (the output level). By manipulating these controls, guitarists can create a wide range of fuzz tones, from gritty and raw to smooth and singing. Fuzz is commonly used in genres such as rock, blues, and psychedelic music, where it adds texture, power, and intensity to guitar solos, riffs, and rhythm parts. Popular fuzz pedal models include the Electro-Harmonix Big Muff Pi, Dunlop Fuzz Face, and ZVex Fuzz Factory.
