The Gibson Original 50s LG-2 revives one of Gibsons most beloved small body acoustics inspired by the highly sought after instruments of the 1950s era. Introduced during the Banner period as the successor to the L-00 the LG-2 became known for delivering a full balanced voice in a compact and comfortable format. A solid Sitka spruce top with traditional scalloped X bracing is paired with solid mahogany back and sides producing lively projection clear articulation and warm harmonic depth across strumming fingerstyle and dynamic accompaniment styles. A mahogany neck with a Rounded profile and shorter 24.75 inch scale length offers a relaxed approachable feel for extended playing sessions. The unbound rosewood fingerboard supports smooth fretting while the compact body sits comfortably whether seated or standing. Vintage inspired details including a sloped rectangular rosewood bridge bone nut and saddle and understated appointments preserve authentic character. Equipped with an L.R. Baggs VTC pickup system and discreet soundhole mounted controls the LG-2 50s Original is ready for recording rehearsal travel and performance straight from its supplied Gibson hardshell case.
