Description

Like every genre, Heavy Metal music has its traditions. Drop tuned power chords, screaming solos and plenty of distortion. The GRG121DX is designed to handle even the heaviest of riffs with great mid range tone to help you cut through the mix. Over three decades the Ibanez RG has been a heavy hitter in the world of metal. With a modern design, great playability and amazing value for money there a great choice for any budding shredder.

Great Mid Range Tone

Don’t get lost in the mix, the combination of a poplar body with Ibanez’s own Infinity pickups, designed for great mid range response, mean this guitar has plenty of attack. The rosewood fretboard takes a little edge off of the tone, especially useful with fresh strings, rounding out the top end and giving you a warmer tone.

Solid setup

A fixed bridge gives you better sustain (great for soloing) and helps stop you going out of tune. When you’re using drop tunings a floating bridge needs adjusting to keep the string tension right, fixed bridges don’t need so much attention, great if you want to switch between tunings quickly.

Built for speed

Ibanez’s necks are flat, thin and very fast. Just right for quick shredding. Deep Cutaways give you great access to the upper frets, you get a better range for soloing and a flat fretboard that’s great for string bending.

Electric Guitars

Electric guitars use magnetic pickups to convert string vibration into an electrical signal, allowing the sound to be shaped through amplifiers and effects. Key things to understand include body shape, pickup type, neck profile, scale length and bridge design, as these all affect tone, feel and sustain. They are used across almost every modern genre, from clean and expressive to high-gain and aggressive styles, making them one of the most versatile instruments available.

S Style Electric Guitars

S style electric guitars are known for their comfortable contours, versatile tones, and expressive playability. Typically featuring a double-cutaway body and a vibrato bridge, they offer easy access to higher frets and a naturally balanced feel whether standing or seated. Their pickup configurations often favour clarity and articulation, making them well suited to clean sounds, edge-of-breakup tones, and expressive lead playing, while still handling heavier styles with the right setup. S style guitars are valued for their responsiveness to touch and dynamics, making them a popular choice for players who want an instrument that feels fluid, familiar, and adaptable across a wide range of music.

From classic crunchy riffs to high-gain modern mayhem, distortion pedals give you total control over how wild or tight your tone gets. Whether you’re crafting searing leads or heavy rhythm walls, they’re an essential tool for adding energy, bite, and character to your playing.
