The Marshall DSL20HR 20W Valve Head is a fully featured two channel valve amp that delivers the thunderous roar Marshall is known for, whether you’re practising at home or playing for a crowd. Coming from a rich heritage of amplifiers, the DSL20HR displays all the same sonic brilliance and organic valve tones thanks to its two EL34 power tubes. Compact, easy to transport and able to output to both 8ohms and 16 ohms cabinets, it’s the ideal amp to power your performance, from rehearsals through to the big stage. Find your signature sound. Featuring two channels with independent gain and volume controls you have vast array of tones at your disposal. Crystal-clear cleans, bluesy ‘edge-of-breakup’ drawls and full-throttle saturated lead tones. It’s exciting, fun and ready for you to experiment. You can further improve your tone with the in-built reverb effect and match the acoustics of the room with an independent resonance control. For any setting that requires a tamer volume (don’t wake the neighbours!) you can switch the output from 20W to 10W, retaining all the delicious valve tones at considerably lower volumes. Finally, if you want to get recording, the DSL20HR has a direct out that uses Softube emulation to attain that authentic mic’d 1960s cabinet sound. Versatile and full of valve tone vibrance, the Marshall DSL20HR will impress in any situation.

Stuff About Marshall

Marshall is a legendary British amplifier brand that defined the sound of rock music with its unmistakable power, grit, and presence. Founded by Jim Marshall in London in 1962, the company quickly became synonymous with the roaring tones of the 1960s and 70s, used by icons like Jimi Hendrix, Pete Townshend, and Slash. Known for their iconic “stack” design and warm overdrive, Marshall amps deliver the punchy, dynamic sound that has powered countless stages and recordings. From classic valve amplifiers to modern digital models, Marshall continues to embody the spirit of rock’n’roll—loud, bold, and timeless.

The Important stuff

20W — A 20-watt amp gives you that extra headroom over smaller practice amps while keeping the volume manageable. It’s powerful enough to cut through a band mix in rehearsal or small venues, yet still works well at home when dialled back. Many players like 20 watts for its dynamic response — it can stay clean at moderate levels or break up naturally when pushed. Whether valve or solid-state, 20W amps strike a great balance between tone, power, and practicality.. DSL20HR. Electric Guitar. Head. Reverb — Reverb (short for reverberation) is an audio effect that simulates the natural reflections of sound in a physical space. When you play in a room, hall, or cathedral, the sound waves bounce off the walls, ceiling, and floor, creating a sense of depth and ambience. Reverb pedals and processors recreate this effect electronically, allowing guitarists and producers to shape how “big” or “live” their sound feels. From short, springy echoes that mimic vintage amp tanks to lush, atmospheric washes used in ambient or shoegaze music, reverb adds dimension and realism — turning a dry, flat tone into something immersive and expressive..
