Description

The PRS Archon Classic 50W Two Channel Head is built for players who want vintage-inspired rock tones with modern flexibility and precision. Designed with a newly voiced circuit the Archon Classic refines the original Archon platform with a hotter clean channel and a more expressive lead channel that excels in rich 70s and 80s-inspired gain sounds. The amp delivers huge tonal depth while maintaining exceptional note separation and clarity. Its retro-inspired styling and rugged construction also give it a commanding stage presence worthy of its massive sound. Powered by a pair of JJ 6CA7 power tubes and six JJ ECC83S preamp tubes the Archon Classic produces 50 watts of punchy valve-driven tone with impressive headroom and dynamic response. Independent EQ sections for each channel make shaping your sound simple and intuitive while global Presence and Depth controls allow fine-tuning of the amps high-end bite and low-end resonance. A built-in tube-driven effects loop integrates pedals beautifully without sacrificing clarity and the included footswitch allows instant channel switching on stage.

Whether you’re chasing pristine cleans, classic crunch, or modern high-gain tones, guitar amps and related gear are all about finding the right balance of power, tone, and control for the way you play.

Guitar Amps

Guitar amplifiers shape and increase an instrument signal for speakers, headphones, recording equipment or a live sound system. This category includes combo amplifiers, heads and other guitar-focused amplification, using valve, solid-state, digital modelling or hybrid designs. Compare output power, speaker format, channels, gain structure, effects, connectivity and the intended practice, recording or performance use.

50W

Products with the 50W tag have an amplifier or power stage whose stated output is 50 watts. Wattage alone does not determine perceived loudness, clean headroom or suitability for a room: speaker efficiency, impedance, cabinet design, amplifier type and how the power is measured also matter. Compare the complete specification and intended practice, recording or performance use.

Amp

An amp is an amplifier used to boost the signal from a guitar and shape its overall tone and volume. It plays a major role in how a guitar sounds, influencing everything from clean clarity to natural overdrive and distortion, and is a core part of any guitar setup for both practice and live performance.

Amp Head

Guitar amp heads contain the main tone-shaping and power section of an amplifier, designed to be paired with a separate speaker cabinet. They let you choose different cabinets to suit your sound and setup, offering flexibility for home, studio or live use. If you want control over volume, tone and character without being tied to a single combo format, amp heads give you a modular way to build the rig that works best for you.
