Description

The Reverend Sentinel Bass is a short-scale bass that delivers huge authoritative tone. Its 30-inch scale provides a comfortable feel without sacrificing low-end power while the raised centre ridge adds extra body mass for enhanced resonance and sustain. At its heart is Reverends custom P-Blade pickup engineered to extend the bass response while maintaining impressive definition and punch. Combined with a korina body and three-piece korina neck the Sentinel produces a rich full-bodied sound that excels across everything from vintage-inspired grooves to modern rock and indie styles. Simple controls conceal remarkable versatility. Alongside the familiar volume and tone knobs the innovative three-way voicing switch instantly selects bright normal or deep tonal profiles allowing you to reshape the instruments character instantly. A high-mass bridge Hipshot Ultralight tuners Boneite nut and thin finish work together to maximise sustain tuning stability and resonance while improving overall balance. The Sentinel Bass combines dependable hardware with flexible electronics to deliver professional performance and unmistakable Reverend character in a short-scale package.

About the manufacturer

Reverend Guitars

Reverend Guitars are one of those brands that quietly stand out once you discover them. Founded by Joe Naylor, they blend classic guitar inspiration with genuinely useful modern improvements. What we really like about Reverend is how thoughtful the designs are — familiar shapes, but refined for real players. Features like the Bass Contour control give you extra tonal flexibility, letting you tighten or roll off low end without changing guitars, which makes them far more versatile than they first appear.

Build quality is another big win. Most Reverend guitars use Korina bodies for a warm, resonant tone while keeping things comfortable to play, and they tend to feel gig-ready straight out of the box. Tonally they cover a lot of ground — from indie and blues to rock and heavier styles — with models like the Double Agent, Sensei, and Charger each offering their own character. If you want something that stands out from the usual choices but still feels instantly playable, Reverend is well worth exploring.

Bass Guitars

Bass guitars form the backbone of a band’s sound, sitting between rhythm and harmony to give music depth, weight, and movement. Available in electric and acoustic forms, they focus on delivering strong, controlled low frequencies while remaining clear and responsive to playing dynamics. Factors like scale length, string type, and pickup design all influence tone and feel, allowing bass guitars to suit a wide range of styles and techniques. Whether laying down solid grooves or exploring more melodic lines, a good bass guitar anchors the music and brings everything together.

Explore electric, acoustic and bass guitars across a wide range of playing styles, body shapes and specifications. The most useful differences include scale length, construction, pickup type, neck profile, materials and whether the instrument is intended for amplified, acoustic or hybrid use. Use the narrower guitar categories and feature tags to compare instruments with similar designs rather than relying on appearance alone.
