Description

Seymour Duncan’s PowerStage products have been immensely popular with guitarists who prefer the portable perks that come with an “amp-less” rig. Essentially a 200W amp head in a compact and pedalboard-friendly enclosure, the mighty Seymour Duncan PowerStage 200 builds upon the formula of the smaller PowerStage 170 with an extra 30W of headroom, a more flexible 4-band EQ section and a D.I. output with switchable speaker simulation.

Plenty of Routing Possibilities

Able to deliver clean, musical volume for players who rely on modellers or pedals to form their core guitar tones, the 200-watt version of the Seymour Duncan PowerStage can drive plenty of volume through a connected speaker cab.

Alternatively, you could just simply rock up at a venue and hook the PowerStage 200 up to their in-house PA system, making use of the D.I. output and built-in cab simulation to form a convincing mic’d up speaker sound. This feature is excellent for recording purposes too, allowing you to connect the PowerStage 200 to an audio interface or mixing desk and record your full pedalboard setup that way!

Perfect for Pedalboards

With a small, slick-looking enclosure, you can simply mount the PowerStage 200 to your pedalboard and place it last in the chain, with your favourite overdrive, distortion, preamp, modulation and time-based stompboxes routed before it. Able to replace a heavy and cumbersome amp head, the Seymour Duncan PowerStage therefore makes it possible to have all of your core guitar tones quite literally at your feet.

But what does the Seymour Duncan PowerStage 200 sound like without any pedals engaged in front of it? The unit is voiced to deliver a warm and full-bodied clean tone with plenty of headroom, so when you turn off your preferred overdrive or distortion pedal; you’re left with an expressive clean sound that can be easily tweaked via the bass, middle, treble and presence controls.

Aux In & Headphone Output

The Seymour Duncan’s PowerStage 200’s ‘Aux In’ jack allows you to jam along with drum grooves and backing tracks from your phone or computer. This also has performing advantages, giving loopers, solo artists and singer-songwriters more options for accompaniment.

A headphone output with a dedicated level control lets you practice silently, with a full speaker-emulated tone that also gives you the option of in-ear monitoring at a gig.

Amp Heads

An amp head contains the core tone and power of a guitar amplifier without the built-in speakers, allowing you to pair it with the cabinet of your choice. This setup offers greater flexibility over sound and volume, as different speaker cabinets can dramatically change the feel and character of the amp. Amp heads are available in valve, solid-state, and hybrid designs, ranging from low-wattage studio models to high-powered touring rigs. They’re ideal for players who want a modular setup, precise control over their tone, and the ability to adapt their rig to different venues, cabinets, or recording situations.

Amps

Guitar amps cover everything needed to amplify, shape, and project your guitar sound, from small practice setups to full stage and studio rigs. In this category you’ll find combo amps, separate amp heads and speaker cabinets, covering valve, solid-state, and hybrid designs, each offering a different feel and response. You’ll also see modelling and digital amps, built-in effects, footswitches, attenuation solutions, replacement speakers, valves, and essential accessories to keep an amp performing at its best. Whether you’re chasing pristine cleans, classic crunch, or modern high-gain tones, guitar amps and related gear are all about finding the right balance of power, tone, and control for the way you play.

Amp

An amp is an amplifier used to boost the signal from a guitar and shape its overall tone and volume. It plays a major role in how a guitar sounds, influencing everything from clean clarity to natural overdrive and distortion, and is a core part of any guitar setup for both practice and live performance.
