Nothing quite beats the sound of a real analogue delay unit, and the vintage Binson Echorec multi-head drum echo is arguably one of the most coveted of them all. Used by Pink Floyd in their legendary Pompeii performance, as well as on several recordings (including "Shine On You Crazy Diamond", "Interstellar Overdrive" and "Echoes"), the Binson Echorec is a truly compelling device with a mythical sound. The original unit also found favour with the likes of Hank Marvin of The Shadows, and even Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham (on "When The Levee Breaks").
Fast-forward to 2023, and T-Rex have recreated the original unit in amazing detail — while adding a few necessary refinements for modern-day musicians. Capable of delivering magical magnetic disk echoes, the T-Rex Echorec boasts four playback heads that allow for incredible flexibility, with adjustable drum speed, balanced inputs and outputs optimised for use in the studio, a "magic eye" vacuum tube input signal level indicator, and connections for external speed adjustment and bypass.
