Description

Building on Taylor’s partnership with award-winning singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Jacob Collier, the Jacob Collier Academy 22e 5-String brings the custom DAEAD tuning that Jacob loves to more players than ever. This signature model is a compact Grand Concert acoustic-electric featuring a solid walnut top with layered walnut back and sides, serving up a warm, woody midrange tone with a clear treble range and plenty of presence in the low end, beautifully complementing the harmonic possibilities that come with the unique tuning intervals. Adding to its accessible feel is a built-in beveled armrest that offers a smooth surface for your strumming arm, while the slender Taylor neck makes fretting a breeze. Subtle visual details include a three-ring Baltic birch rosette, 4mm dot inlays in mother of pearl, nickel tuning machines, and a matte finish. It ships with Fishman Presys VT Sonitone electronics for rich plugged-in sound and includes a padded gig bag for protection.

Acoustic Guitars

Acoustic guitars produce their sound naturally through the vibration of the strings and body, offering a direct and expressive playing experience. They come in a wide range of styles, including steel string and classical designs, each with its own feel and tonal character. Body shape, wood choice, and construction all influence warmth, projection, and balance, making acoustics suitable for everything from gentle fingerstyle to confident strumming. Whether used for songwriting, practice, or performance, acoustic guitars provide a simple, honest connection between the player and the music.

Electro-Acoustic Guitars

Electro-acoustic guitars combine the natural sound and feel of an acoustic guitar with built-in electronics for amplification. Fitted with pickups and preamp controls, they allow you to plug directly into an amp, PA system, or recording setup while retaining an acoustic character. They’re ideal for live performance, rehearsal, and home recording, offering volume control and tonal adjustment without relying solely on microphones. Electro-acoustic guitars suit players who want the warmth and responsiveness of an acoustic instrument with the flexibility to play amplified when needed.
