This pedal takes the standard ZVEX Fuzz Factory formula down into sub-octave abyss! Featuring all of the same features found on ZVEX's flagship fuzz box, the Fat Fuzz Factory sports an additional 'SUBS' switch that opens the pedal up to an astounding amount of low-end rumble.

Earth-Shaking Overtones

With the ZVEX Fat Fuzz Factory's ingenious 'SUBS' function, this means that the pedal can oscillate at much lower registers for thunderous synth-like textures that'll shake any room or venue with fuzzy glitch sounds. And based on ZVEX's sonic experiments, this extra "fatness" lends itself particularly well to bass guitar – but absolutely rips on electric guitar too!

Flexible Control-Set

Despite its small form-factor, the ZVEX Fat Fuzz Factory has a bunch of tone-warping knobs that enable precise sonic manipulation. 'Volume' is self-explanatory, but the others are far more idiosyncratic and have a dramatic effect on the pedal's overall sound:

  • Gate: Squelches noise after the end of a sustained note. Turn to the right to eliminate squeals, hiss and buzz, stopping just as they disappear, or use to tune in exact feedback pitch, if you’re that kind. Turning to left opens the gate.
  • Compress: Adds attack characteristic when turned to the left, which gets softer to the right, and suddenly pinches tone when all the way to the right. Also use to tune in fat feedbacky-fuzz. Lower the 'Stability' and see what happens to this control.
  • Drive: Increases distortion when used as a “normal” fuzz and adjusts feedback pitch and tonal thickness. This control becomes meaningless when 'Compress' is all the way right.
  • Stability: Use all the way right. Do not adjust this control below 2:00, unless you like your fuzz soft and squishy. Use to control feedback pitch.

More info about this Product

Guitar Pedals

Guitar pedals are compact effects units that shape and enhance a guitar’s sound, sitting between the instrument and the amplifier. They include gain pedals like overdrive and distortion, modulation effects such as chorus and tremolo, time-based effects like delay and reverb, and essential utilities including tuners, compressors and loopers. Understanding basic things such as pedal type, signal order, power requirements and intended use helps players choose pedals that suit their style, setup and playing environment.

Fuzz

Fuzz is one of the earliest and most distinctive guitar effects, known for its thick, gritty, and saturated tone that completely transforms your sound. It works by heavily clipping the audio signal, producing a raw, almost broken distortion that defined the sound of the ’60s and ’70s rock era. Classic pedals like the Fuzz Face and Big Muff became legendary for their roaring sustain and rich harmonic texture. Modern fuzz pedals range from vintage-style warmth to wild, synth-like chaos, making them perfect for players who want to add character, attitude, and a touch of chaos to their tone.
