Here’s what Ampeg say:

The Venture VB-88 cab weighs only 67 pounds and handles 800 watts RMS/1600 watts Program power (4Ω)— making it ideal for modern touring bassists. It features eight 8″ custom-voiced Lavoce® neodymium woofers and a variable high-frequency driver. Pair it with a Venture V7 or V12 head and add an optional padded cover.

Ampeg Venture® Series amplifiers and cabinets deliver the modern style and features sought by contemporary bassists—continuing a tradition of innovation that stretches back to the dawn of the electric bass.

The Venture VB-88 is specifically designed for bassists who are looking for the performance and visual impact of the legendary SVT-810 cabinet, but in a more compact and modern-sounding cab. Paired with a Venture V7 or Venture V12 head, a single VB-88 will move enough air to rattle the rafters of nearly any venue. Two will handle even the largest venues.

The VB-88 weighs only 67 pounds and is rated 800 watts RMS/1600 watts Program power (4Ω). It is loaded with eight custom-voiced 8″ Lavoce® neodymium woofers and a variable high-frequency driver. This stylish front-ported cab is ruggedly constructed and covered in carbon fiber-style Tolex, so it will hold up gig after gig, while at the same being one of the lightest 8×8 bass enclosures available.

An optional Portaflex®-style grille assembly offers an aesthetic alternative, while an optional padded cover will protect your investment.

Amp Cabinets

A speaker cabinet is responsible for turning your amplifier’s power into the sound you actually hear, and it plays a huge role in the overall feel and character of your tone. Different cabinet sizes, speaker types, and configurations can affect everything from low-end punch to clarity and projection. Cabinets can be open-back or closed-back, single or multi-speaker, each offering a distinct response and spread in a room. Whether paired with a powerful amp head or a compact setup, the right speaker cabinet helps define how your guitar sits in a mix and how it feels to play.

Amps

Guitar amps cover everything needed to amplify, shape, and project your guitar sound, from small practice setups to full stage and studio rigs. In this category you’ll find combo amps, separate amp heads and speaker cabinets, covering valve, solid-state, and hybrid designs, each offering a different feel and response. You’ll also see modelling and digital amps, built-in effects, footswitches, attenuation solutions, replacement speakers, valves, and essential accessories to keep an amp performing at its best. Whether you’re chasing pristine cleans, classic crunch, or modern high-gain tones, guitar amps and related gear are all about finding the right balance of power, tone, and control for the way you play.
