Description

The Warm Audio WA-C1 Chorus Vibrato Mod brings one of the most iconic modulation pedals ever made to a modern, pedalboard-friendly format. It’s packed with all-analogue goodness, delivering the rich, swirling chorus and vibrato tones that defined countless classic records, while adding a few smart upgrades for today’s players. Classic chorus, expanded The lush Chorus mode stays true to the original sound, but separate Depth and Rate controls give you far more flexibility than vintage units ever offered. Whether you’re after subtle shimmer or deep, watery modulation, the Warm Audio WA-C1 makes it easy to dial in everything from gentle movement to full-on ’80s chorus magic! Authentic vibrato & modern refinements The Vibrato circuit remains faithful to the legendary original design too, delivering beautifully expressive pitch modulation. There’s also a fully analogue preamp up front (which can be bypassed), renowned for its touch-sensitive feel and responsiveness, while a rear-panel Hi-Z switch helps optimise the pedal for guitar signals vs. keyboards — adding extra top-end clarity when needed.Key Features Classic modulation, modern mods: This pedal faithfully recreates the world’s most celebrated all-analogue chorus and vibrato circuit. The modded WA-C1 also adds the ability to bypass the preamp, to work with setups that require meticulous gain-staging — all in a more compact, pedalboard-friendly enclosure. It preserves the single input stage with a wet/dry stereo output too, and leverages top-mounted jacks to easily slot into any board. Pure analogue preamp: The WA-C1 Mod has a 100% analogue preamp, matched to the renowned original, with a Level control that adds bite, depth and even some natural compression. It preserves this preamp and also allows for quick bypassing by engaging Modern mode over Vintage to manage complex gain-staging in signal chains. Dual DC-DC voltage converter: The whole circuit is supported internally with a dual DC-DC voltage converter, to deliver robust power even when using an external 9V power supply. Deep, lush chorus: The pedal provides the lush midrange depth and detail associated with proper Bucket Brigade Device (BBD) analogue chorus pedals. With a modern MN3007 BBD chip recreation and other premium components, the WA-C1 Mod is clocked to match the depth and rate of the original pedal to reproduce the sounds expected from the most sought-after vintage units. Rich, three-dimensional vibrato: When it’s really time to wobble, engage the Vibrato setting for added speed and bounce to your tone. Experimenting with this side yields rotary-like modulation tones perfect for funk, fusion, blues, jazz and more. WA-C1 Mod adds a flashing LED for effect monitoring on the face, showing which setting is engaged along with the rate of the modulation. Separate Depth & Rate controls for chorus: The WA-C1 Mod has separate Depth and Rate controls vs. the vintage ‘Intensity’ knob. On vintage pieces, this control increased only the rate as the depth was fixed. But with the WA-C1 Mod, you can go beyond the limitations of the older pedals by dialling in more subtle depth and variable rates for a larger palette of chorus tones. Selectable impedance for multiple sources: The WA-C1 Mod has selectable impedance on the back panel, which lets you choose between the vintage input impedance of 50k ohm and a 1.1M Hi-Z setting better suited for passive stringed instruments to bring out clarity. This switch also works in bypass mode to maintain clarity while the pedal is not in use. Hand-tested in Austin, TX: Like all Warm Audio gear, the WA-C1 Mod has a 5-year warranty and is carefully hand-tested and inspected by trained technicians with a passion for making music in Austin, Texas. Specifications Controls: High/Low Input Sensitivity, Preamp Level, Chorus Depth & Rate, Vibrato Depth & Rate, Effect On/Off, Chorus/Vibrato Switch, Vintage/Modern Preamp Switch, Hi-Z On/Off Connector…

More info about this Product

Chorus Pedals

Chorus mixes the dry signal with one or more short, continuously modulated delays. The small pitch and timing movement between the paths creates width, shimmer and the impression of several instruments playing together. Rate controls the modulation speed, depth controls its excursion, and delay or mix settings determine whether the result is subtle thickening, a liquid wobble or a broad stereo image.

Guitar Pedals

Guitar pedals are compact effects units that shape and enhance a guitar’s sound, sitting between the instrument and the amplifier. They include gain pedals like overdrive and distortion, modulation effects such as chorus and tremolo, time-based effects like delay and reverb, and essential utilities including tuners, compressors and loopers. Understanding basic things such as pedal type, signal order, power requirements and intended use helps players choose pedals that suit their style, setup and playing environment.

Chorus

Chorus is a modulation effect that thickens and widens a sound by duplicating the signal, slightly detuning it, and modulating its pitch over time. This creates the impression of multiple instruments playing together, resulting in a rich, shimmering, and spacious tone.

It is commonly used on guitar, bass, and keyboards to add movement and depth, working especially well with clean or lightly driven sounds. Chorus became strongly associated with 1980s music but remains widely used across pop, rock, ambient, and modern styles for its ability to make a sound feel fuller and more animated.

Guitar Pedal

Guitar pedals alter, route, control or support an instrument signal from the floor. The tag covers individual effects, multi-effects, switching, tuning, looping, amplification and pedalboard utilities. The product category and additional effect tags identify the specific job each pedal performs.

Vibrato

Vibrato is an effect that creates a subtle or pronounced pitch variation by modulating the signal up and down over time. Unlike chorus or tremolo, vibrato affects pitch only, producing a wavering or shimmering sound without changing volume.

It is used to add movement, expression, and a sense of warmth to a sound, working especially well on sustained notes and chords. Vibrato can range from gentle and musical to bold and psychedelic, and is commonly found in vintage amplifiers, modulation pedals, and classic studio effects.
