Description

The Sterling StingRay Mike Herrera Signature Bass Orange Creamsicle is inspired by decades of touring with legendary punk band MxPx. Developed around Mike Herreras preferences it combines the familiar StingRay silhouette with stripped-back passive electronics and distinctive signature styling. A single ceramic humbucker delivers punchy bass tones while one functional volume knob provides straightforward control. Two additional dummy knobs preserve the classic StingRay appearance reflecting the custom wiring arrangement Herrera has used for years. Built around the recognisable StingRay body shape this signature bass features smooth contours and a balanced feel for comfortable playing. A hard maple neck and fingerboard 34-inch scale length and 21 medium frets provide a familiar playing platform. The matching headstock complements the Orange Creamsicle finish while a white pearloid pickguard displays the iconic MxPx Pokinatcha artist graphic. Completed with a fixed bridge and open-gear tuners its a distinctive tribute to Herreras longstanding relationship with the StingRay bass.

Bass Guitars

Bass guitars form the backbone of a band’s sound, sitting between rhythm and harmony to give music depth, weight, and movement. Available in electric and acoustic forms, they focus on delivering strong, controlled low frequencies while remaining clear and responsive to playing dynamics. Factors like scale length, string type, and pickup design all influence tone and feel, allowing bass guitars to suit a wide range of styles and techniques. Whether laying down solid grooves or exploring more melodic lines, a good bass guitar anchors the music and brings everything together.

Guitar

Explore electric, acoustic and bass guitars across a wide range of playing styles, body shapes and specifications. The most useful differences include scale length, construction, pickup type, neck profile, materials and whether the instrument is intended for amplified, acoustic or hybrid use. Use the narrower guitar categories and feature tags to compare instruments with similar designs rather than relying on appearance alone.
