Description

The Gibson Flying V might be one of the most iconic and instantly recognisable guitar shapes on the planet today, but funnily enough, it didn’t start out that way. When it first landed in 1958, the world wasn’t quite ready for something that looked like it had fallen out of a UFO.
But as the years rolled on, players began to realise just how brilliant this futuristic oddball really was. By the late ’60s, legends were picking them up… and then the ’70s hit — boom! Hard rockers embraced the Flying V’s outrageous looks and powerful tone, and suddenly it was everywhere. Michael Schenker, Jimi Hendrix, K.K. Downing, Marc Bolan, Steve Jones — the list goes on. Enter the Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Flying V 70s: a loving tribute to the era that made the V truly legendary.
Classic Gibson tonewoods
This thing is pure ’70s swagger. You get a two-piece, centre-seamed Mahogany body that looks every bit as cool as it sounds. The Mahogany neck sports a comfy Rounded “C” profile and a proper ’70s-style volute at the headstock — vintage vibes done right. Up top, there’s a Rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium-jumbo frets and classic pearloid dots.
Rock-solid hardware
The slightly shorter ’70s arrowhead headstock not only looks the part but comes loaded with Grover Rotomatic tuners (spade buttons included for extra mojo) and a Graph Tech nut for great tuning stability. Down the other end, you’ve got an Epiphone LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and Stop Bar tailpiece, keeping everything locked down and ready for riffing.
T-Type PRO pickups
Under the hood, Epiphone’s new T-Type PRO humbuckers capture that fat, punchy, sustain-heavy tone that Flying V fans adore — especially those ’70s hard rock flavours. They’re wired with individual volume controls and a master tone knob, all topped with those unmistakable Witch Hat knobs.Key Features
Rounded “C” neck profile: This comfy, vintage‑inspired carve feels instantly familiar the moment you wrap your hand around it. Whether you’re chugging rhythm parts or soaring into big bends, it keeps your playing relaxed, controlled and full of confidence.
22 medium jumbo frets: These frets make bending an absolute breeze and give you loads of confidence when navigating the upper register. They offer a beautifully smooth, modern playing feel.
Epiphone T-Type PRO Humbuckers: Deliver that chunky, harmonically rich ’70s tone with a tight low end and plenty of bite — perfect for everything from classic rock riffing to molten lead work. They stay articulate even under heavy gain, giving you a punchy, authoritative voice that cuts straight through the mix.
LockTone hardware: The LockTone bridge and tailpiece keep everything rock‑solid, boosting sustain and preventing accidental slips when you’re digging in. It’s a no‑nonsense setup built for stability, reliability and big on‑stage energy.
Included premium gig bag: Perfect for players on the move, this gig bag keeps your Flying V safe and sound between rehearsals, gigs or late‑night jam sessions.
