Description

The Gibson Acoustic J-200 Junior is a fresh take on one of Gibson’s most iconic acoustics, served up with all the character, vibe and sparkle you’d expect from the Greatest Hits Collection. Gibson have reimagined some of their most beloved instruments for this series, and the J-200 Junior absolutely nails that blend of classic heritage with bold, modern flair.
Compact size, big‑time heritage
Sure, it’s more compact than a full-fat SJ-200, but don’t be fooled — this isn’t some shrunken-down novelty. With its full-size J-180 body, the J-200 Junior proudly carries DNA that stretches right back to the golden era of the 1950s.
Super jumbo sound, dialled for balance
You still get all the hallmarks of a true Super Jumbo: a Sitka Spruce top, traditional scalloped X-bracing and gorgeous Maple back and sides. Tonally, it delivers that rich Gibson shimmer, but with a tighter, more focused response compared to the thunderous low-end of a traditional SJ-200. Think beautifully balanced, articulate and lively across all six strings.
Classic Gibson style, front & centre
Gibson didn’t skimp on the eye candy. The J-200 Junior is dripping with classic Super Jumbo elegance: the iconic moustache bridge with bar inlays, an engraved pickguard and crisp crown inlays topping a bound Rosewood fingerboard.
Playability that feels like home
The SlimTaper Mahogany neck feels fast, comfy and instantly familiar, whether you’re noodling at home or gigging under the lights. And with onboard LR Baggs electronics, you’re ready for any stage or studio session.Key Features
Nitro lacquer finish: A timeless, premium finish that lets the wood breathe and age beautifully.
Sitka Spruce top: The gold standard for acoustic tonewoods — punchy, dynamic and full of shimmer. Perfect for players who want clarity and power whether you’re fingerpicking or giving it some welly.

Scalloped X-bracing: The secret sauce behind the guitar’s responsiveness. This classic Gibson bracing pattern adds warmth, balance and that unmistakable jumbo character without overwhelming the mids.

Electro-Acoustic

Electro-acoustic guitars are acoustic instruments fitted with built-in pickups or microphones that allow them to be amplified or connected directly to a PA system or amplifier. They retain the natural acoustic tone and feel of a traditional acoustic guitar while adding the convenience of onboard electronics.

They are commonly used for live performance and recording, especially in situations where consistent volume and clarity are needed. Electro-acoustic guitars often include controls for volume and tone, and sometimes built-in tuners, making them a practical choice for gigging musicians who want an acoustic sound with modern flexibility.
