Here's what Ibanez says about the RGIB21-BK Iron Label:

With the growing popularity of the Iron Label series, Ibanez continues to tap into the molten metal underworld for inspiration. Re-working its famous RG body shape from the chassis on up, the RGIB21 has been designed to add some dark, dramatic flair to the brand’s no-frills “Made-for-Metal” lineup.

The striking Baritone 6-string RGIB21 brings an air of mystery to the Iron Label line. The RGIB21 features a 28” scale which provides full, rich tone and solid intonation. The combination of the Jatoba fingerboard and Nitro Baritone neck provides a smooth, dense playing surface that produces a tight low end with quick response. Luminescent side dot inlays will light your way on the darkest stages.

Electronics include the EMG 60 pickup for a classic thick, buttery tone, and the searing high end of an EMG 81 provides endless sustain and superior articulation. The Gibraltar Standard II bridge meshes with the guitar’s body to provide the optimal transfer of each string’s vibration. Gotoh locking tuners provide amazing tuning accuracy and allow for quick, efficient string changing. Factory tuning is B, F#, D, A, E, B with string gauges .14 to .68.

Electric Guitars

Electric guitars use magnetic pickups to convert string vibration into an electrical signal, allowing the sound to be shaped through amplifiers and effects. Key things to understand include body shape, pickup type, neck profile, scale length and bridge design, as these all affect tone, feel and sustain. They are used across almost every modern genre, from clean and expressive to high-gain and aggressive styles, making them one of the most versatile instruments available.

Baritone

Baritone guitars are designed with a longer scale length than standard guitars, allowing them to be tuned lower while maintaining string tension and clarity. They typically sit between a standard guitar and a bass in pitch, producing a deeper, heavier sound without losing definition.

They are widely used in alternative, metal, ambient, and cinematic styles, as well as for modern rhythm work and textural playing. Baritone guitars offer tight low-end response and extended range, making them ideal for players who want lower tunings with improved note clarity and control.

Black

Black instruments and gear offer a timeless, understated look that fits almost any style of music or setup. Whether it’s a guitar, pedal or accessory, a black finish is often chosen for its clean appearance, practicality and stage-ready feel. If you prefer gear that looks focused, professional and never goes out of fashion, black options deliver a classic aesthetic with no distractions.
