Description

FGN is one of the most well-known and respected instrument manufacturers in Japan. Having built guitars for the likes of Ibanez, Roland, Greco, and Yamaha, you can feel and hear the knowledge, innovation and craftmanship from over 60 years of experience that has been distilled into their latest line of electric guitars and basses.

The J Standard Odyssey carefully balances the modern and the traditional to provide you with an expressive, feature-rich guitar which doesn’t break the bank. FGN’s XPERT humbucker sits alongside two vintage-style single coils offering you great tonal versatility to support a range of styles.

The J Standard also features a deep-contoured, round edge Alder body and a Maple fretboard with J-Standard fret edge treatment so you can be sure of a smooth and comfortable playing experience enhanced further by FGN’s unique Circle Fretting System (C.F.S) Design.

Just one of FGN’s many innovations, the C.F.S system sees the fretwires installed on a very slight curve. This helps you gain far improved intonation compared to standard fretting systems as well as much clearer tones for both lead and rhythm playing.

Includes an original gig bag – great for transport and storage.

Key Features

  • XPERT Humbucker – FGN’s XPERT-Hf medium-hot Humbucker combines with OS-2n/OS-2rw vintage style single coil pickups on a white 3-ply pickguard. 5-way selector toggle and humbucker tap switch provides versatility and customisation for your tone.
  • Alder Body – As well as a stunning Mint Blue finish, this Odyssey model features a deep-contoured round edge Alder body for both a striking outline and comfortable playing whether sitting or standing.
  • Circle Fretting System (C.F.S) – All FGN guitars and basses come with a unique Circle Fretting System (C.F.S.). It was created by FGN based on an idea to offer better pitch and articulation than conventional guitars and basses. With the frets installed in a slightly curved shape, it provides you with clearer articulation and comfortable playability for both rhythm and lead lines. This benefit is enhanced further thanks to the J-Standard fret edge treatment for a great experience wherever you are on the neck.
  • Maple Fretboard – The compound radius fretboard has a smaller (rounder) radius towards the nut with a larger (flatter) radius towards the neck. This allows for much easier chord playing at the lower frets as well as ease of bending strings at higher registers.
  • Dependable Tuning Stability – Vintage-style GOTOH tuners meet a smooth, stable two-pivot FGN tremolo bridge to keep you in tune.
  • Original Gig Bag – Included with this guitar for easy transport to your next show or jam session!

More info about this Product

Electric Guitars

Electric guitars use magnetic pickups to convert string vibration into an electrical signal, allowing the sound to be shaped through amplifiers and effects. Key things to understand include body shape, pickup type, neck profile, scale length and bridge design, as these all affect tone, feel and sustain. They are used across almost every modern genre, from clean and expressive to high-gain and aggressive styles, making them one of the most versatile instruments available.
