Description

The Gibson ES-330 has earned a reputation for its distinctive sound, comfortable playability, and classic aesthetics, making it a favorite among musicians seeking a versatile, vintage-inspired ES™-style electric guitar. A close relative of the Epiphone Casino™, the ES-330 features a fully hollow thinline body made of 3-ply maple/poplar/maple, resulting in a warm and resonant tone. Its hollow body, trapeze tailpiece, and deep-set neck optimize bridge placement for enhanced sound quality.

The mahogany neck has a comfortable rounded “C” profile and is paired with a rosewood fretboard, complete with acrylic small block inlays and medium jumbo frets. The ES-330 is equipped with a pair of Dogear P-90 pickups, hand-wired to 500k potentiometers and Orange Drop® capacitors, delivering bright and clear clean tones, as well as wonderfully gritty sounds when overdriven.

Not only is the ES-330 a fantastic electric guitar for stage and studio use, but it also serves as an enjoyable songwriting tool. Many consider it the ideal “couch guitar,” as it can be played unplugged and still sound great acoustically. We’re proud to reintroduce the ES-330 to the Gibson catalog, allowing players to rediscover the magic of this distinctive, vintage-inspired classic.

The brand’s pioneering use of humbucker pickups and carved maple tops created the warm, powerful sound that defines countless classic recordings. Played by greats such as Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, and Angus Young, Gibson guitars continue to represent timeless quality, innovation, and a deep connection between player and instrument.

Electric Guitars

Electric guitars use magnetic pickups to convert string vibration into an electrical signal, allowing the sound to be shaped through amplifiers and effects. Key things to understand include body shape, pickup type, neck profile, scale length and bridge design, as these all affect tone, feel and sustain. They are used across almost every modern genre, from clean and expressive to high-gain and aggressive styles, making them one of the most versatile instruments available.
