Description

Made in Japan to the highest standards, the Ibanez AZ2204AG Prestige is designed with players at the heart of every detail. This beauty is packed with features that make it a total powerhouse both in the studio and on stage. It’s versatile, comfortable and built to last. And once you pick it up, you won’t want to put it down!

Roasted Maple neck

Ibanez have given this neck the S-Tech roasted treatment for rock-solid stability and resistance to the elements. It’s finished with oil for that “played-in” feel straight out of the box. Rolled fretboard edges? Check. Thanks to the Prestige fret edge treatment, you’ll glide up and down the neck like it’s second nature.

Seymour Duncan Hyperion pickups

The Seymour Duncan Hyperion set is all about giving you clarity without sacrificing character. With Alnico-5 magnets and a moderate output, these pickups keep your core tone intact — even when you’re piling on the gain. Expect a crisp pick attack and an even response from top-end sparkle to low-end punch. Whether you’re running clean, dirty or stacking pedals, they play nice with everything.

dyna-MIX9 switching system

Why settle for one sound when you can have nine? With a quick flick of the mini switch, you can jump between humbuckers and single coils, and there’s even a clever setting that mimics a humbucker using two single coils. It’s like having a guitar that never runs out of ideas — perfect if you’re looking for loads of flexibility!

Key Features

  • Ash body: Brings a lively brightness to your tone with rich sustain that keeps notes ringing beautifully.
  • Ergonomic contours: The AZ body shape is all about playability. With a deep waist, forearm contour and a shallow back carve, this guitar hugs you whether you’re standing or sitting.
  • Super All Access neck joint: Forget awkward stretches — this neck joint is sculpted so you can hit those upper frets without feeling like you’re wrestling the guitar. Great for solos that go way past the 12th fret.
  • Jumbo stainless steel frets: Big frets mean big bends and effortless vibrato. Stainless steel keeps them smooth and shiny for years, resisting wear and corrosion so your notes will pop with clarity every time.
  • Luminlay side dots: These glow-in-the-dark position markers keep you locked in and confident when the lights go down.
  • Gotoh T1802 tremolo: Titanium saddles and a steel block give you a trem that’s responsive, stable and dripping with sustain. Dive bombs, subtle shimmers — whatever you throw at it, it’ll handle. Just snap in the arm and have some fun!
  • Gotoh Magnum Lock (with H.A.P.) machine heads: Enjoy quick, hassle-free string changes and secure tuning. The Height Adjustable Post system lets you fine-tune string tension for the optimal feel too.
  • Oil-impregnated Bone nut: Adds a touch of warmth to your sound while keeping everything stable.
  • Included hardshell case: If you’re investing in a Prestige instrument — Ibanez makes sure it’s protected. The included case is tough, stylish and ready for the road.

Electric Guitars

Electric guitars use magnetic pickups to convert string vibration into an electrical signal, allowing the sound to be shaped through amplifiers and effects. Key things to understand include body shape, pickup type, neck profile, scale length and bridge design, as these all affect tone, feel and sustain. They are used across almost every modern genre, from clean and expressive to high-gain and aggressive styles, making them one of the most versatile instruments available.

Burst

A burst finish refers to a guitar finish where the colour gradually fades from a darker outer edge to a lighter centre. This technique highlights the natural grain of the wood while giving the instrument depth and visual character, making each guitar look slightly different.

Common on both electric and acoustic guitars, burst finishes range from classic sunburst styles to modern colour variations. They are popular because they combine a traditional look with a visually striking appearance that complements the shape and craftsmanship of the guitar.
