Description

The Gibson Custom 1959 ES-355 Reissue Stop Bar is the most refined and luxurious expression of Gibsons original semi-hollow design. Built on the same feedback-resistant maple poplar maple body and solid maple centre block as the ES-335 it delivers openness sustain and dynamic clarity in equal measure. What sets the ES-355 apart is its elevated appointment level combining premium materials and elegant detailing while remaining faithful to original 1959 specifications studied and recreated by the Gibson Custom Shop. This reissue features a solid mahogany neck carved to a 50s Rounded Medium C profile and joined with a long tenon hide glue fit for enhanced resonance. A bound ebony fretboard with mother of pearl block inlays and authentic medium jumbo frets provides a fast articulate feel under the fingers. Unpotted Custombucker pickups wired with CTS potentiometers and paper in oil capacitors deliver rich harmonics expressive dynamics and a smooth transition from clean to driven tones.

More info about this Product

Electric Guitars

Electric guitars use magnetic pickups to convert string vibration into an electrical signal, allowing the sound to be shaped through amplifiers and effects. Key things to understand include body shape, pickup type, neck profile, scale length and bridge design, as these all affect tone, feel and sustain. They are used across almost every modern genre, from clean and expressive to high-gain and aggressive styles, making them one of the most versatile instruments available.

Guitar

Explore electric, acoustic and bass guitars across a wide range of playing styles, body shapes and specifications. The most useful differences include scale length, construction, pickup type, neck profile, materials and whether the instrument is intended for amplified, acoustic or hybrid use. Use the narrower guitar categories and feature tags to compare instruments with similar designs rather than relying on appearance alone.
