The Alvarez Masterworks Series offers the most carefully designed, intricately detailed, and meticulously crafted acoustic guitars, with the most dynamic and responsive tone. Each model features a Rosewood back and sides to give you balanced, warm, and embracing undertones. The Masterworks Series has been designed to give you the best Alvarez has to offer, with modern refinements like the FS6 X-bracing, and Hi-Fi LR Baggs system.

With solid African Mahogany construction throughout, the MD66ce dreadnought produces a warm, woody voice with an excellent, clear bass response and warm, glistening trebles. The MD66ce is powerful and responsive, and it absolutely delivers across the lower and upper middle frequencies for a very connected feeling when playing. The FS6 bracing structure produces an excellent ratio between strength and vibration which affords the Mahogany top the movement to generate a broader frequency response than is often associated with Mahogany guitars.
 
Although undertested in aesthetic design, the MD66ce has a premium look and feel, with first-class materials and components, select shell inlays and a flawless, thin poly finish shine. 
 
The MD66ce is fitted with the LR Baggs StagePro Bronze. The StagePro Bronze is a small-footprint side-mounted EQ incorporating the renowned LR Baggs Element under-saddle pickup. This is a low-profile unit with a large backlit tuner, volume, bass and treble controls and phase. The battery box is built into the end pin jack compartment for easy access with a simple push to open and change batteries.
