The Mockingbird is one of BC Rich’s flagship electric guitars, designed all the way back in 1976! Made famous by the likes of Slash (Guns N’ Roses) and a multitude of metal artists, the gothic-inspired Mockingbird still looks modern and cutting-edge almost 50 years later.
The STQ model, from BC Rich’s Legacy Series, is one of the most popular instruments in the Mockingbird family — distinctive for its gorgeous Quilted Maple top, Wenge body stringers, open diamond fingerboard inlays, and rock-solid hardtail bridge. Sizzling-hot DiMarzio D Activator humbuckers give the Mockingbird STQ a huge voice, with the various switches and controls providing a wide tonal palette.

- ‘Varitone’ Control & Mini Switches — Alongside the customary 3-way pickup selector switch and volume/tone knobs, the Mockingbird ST also features a 5-way ‘Varitone’ filter switch which subtly adjusts the guitar’s EQ. There are 3 mini toggles too: two of these “tap” the humbuckers for single-coil sounds, and the third switch reverses the phase.
