Description

Introducing the Darkglass Electronics Alpha Omega 500: a 500W bass amp with plenty of brawn. Don't underestimate its small size and lightweight construction though – the Alpha Omega 500 punches well above its weight.

Under the Hood

The backbone of the amp comes in the form of the Alpha and Omega analog drive engines. These have quickly developed an excellent reputation within the bass community. They provide a nice contrast to one another; Omega is raw and in your face; Alpha is more precise, punchy and offers greater definition. You can then utilise the Mod control to blend between the two drive circuits.

They're complimented by a custom-made Darkglass, high-efficiency class-d power amp module. It lets you use speaker cabs with a low impedance (e.g. 2Ω). This makes your potential cabinet choice far more versatile than it otherwise might be.

That's not all though. A built-in cab simulation harness an enhanced version of the popular Darkglass Electronics cab sim/IR module. This boasts a trio of slots that contain your hi-resolution impulse responses. You'll find them active for your balanced XLR DI output and the headphone output. These features (plus an aux input) make the amp ideal for silent practice and recording too!

The package is rounded out by a quiet graphic 6-band EQ and a high-quality single-knob VCA compressor – with additional intelligent makeup gain.

Amps

Guitar amps cover everything needed to amplify, shape, and project your guitar sound, from small practice setups to full stage and studio rigs. In this category you’ll find combo amps, separate amp heads and speaker cabinets, covering valve, solid-state, and hybrid designs, each offering a different feel and response. You’ll also see modelling and digital amps, built-in effects, footswitches, attenuation solutions, replacement speakers, valves, and essential accessories to keep an amp performing at its best. Whether you’re chasing pristine cleans, classic crunch, or modern high-gain tones, guitar amps and related gear are all about finding the right balance of power, tone, and control for the way you play.

Bass Amps

Bass amplifiers are designed to reproduce low frequencies with suitable headroom, control and speaker handling. The category includes compact practice models, stage-ready combos, amplifier heads and systems with recording or direct-output facilities. Compare power, speaker size, cabinet compatibility, EQ, compression, drive, effects loops and balanced outputs while considering the volume and low-end extension the playing situation requires.

500W

Products with the 500W tag have an amplifier or power stage whose stated output is 500 watts. Wattage alone does not determine perceived loudness, clean headroom or suitability for a room: speaker efficiency, impedance, cabinet design, amplifier type and how the power is measured also matter. Compare the complete specification and intended practice, recording or performance use.

Amp

An amp is an amplifier used to boost the signal from a guitar and shape its overall tone and volume. It plays a major role in how a guitar sounds, influencing everything from clean clarity to natural overdrive and distortion, and is a core part of any guitar setup for both practice and live performance.
