The EastCoast ST1 is the ultimate beginner guitar for almost any style of music. The iconic S-style guitar was the one of the earliest electric guitars ever produced and hundreds of brands have put their own twist on the classic design.
Key Features
- Perfect For Beginners – Built with beginners in mind and brought to you at an accessible price, the EastCoast ST1 is a comfortable, lightweight guitar with sounds & classic looks to match – whatever your style!
- Versatile Sonic Palette – The Poplar construction provides a tight, resonant tone, while the switchable single-coil pickups put a huge range of electric guitar sounds at your fingertips, from rock to funk to twangy pop.
- Excellent Tuning Stability – The ST1 keeps your strings in tune thanks to solid die-cast tuners – but if you want to get expressive, the 6-saddle ‘whammy’ bar is primed for wild Hendrix-style wailing!
Sound
The ST1 has three single-coil pickups – the parts of the guitar that take the sound of the strings and directs it into an amp. These produce a twangy, bright tone suited to crisp clean sounds and searing solo leads. There are loads of sounds to explore because of the three pickups that you can switch between in seconds. Perfect for players who want to play lots of styles of music.
You might be wondering what the protruding handle is coming out of the bridge. This tremolo or ‘whammy’ bar as it’s commonly known, lets you bend and wobble the note of the string without moving your left hand. You can get extremely creative with the tremolo.
Looks
Almost every guitarist has played or owned an S-style guitar, whether it’s for blues, folk, jazz or metal. The double-cutaway makes it extremely easy to get your left hand up to the highest of the 22 frets. These are the thin metal bars across the fingerboard. The more you have, the more notes you can play.
