The EastCoast ST2 is an ultra-versatile beginner electric guitar designed to handle any style of playing. The iconic S-style guitar has been a go-to for countless artists since the ‘50s, and is more popular than ever with today’s guitar heroes. The ST2 comes loaded with powerful pickups and premium features that make it a dream to play – and it looks the part to boot!

Key Features

  • Perfect For Beginners – Built with beginners in mind and brought to you at an accessible price, the EastCoast ST2 is a comfortable, lightweight guitar with sounds & classic looks to match – whatever your style!
  • Choose Your Sound – With a combination of a fat-sounding ‘humbucker pickup’ and twangy ‘single-coil’ pickups lets you flick from crystal-clean sounds to powerful rock riffs, and everything in between.
  • Excellent Tuning Stability – The ST2 keeps your strings in tune thanks to solid die-cast tuners – but if you want to get expressive, the 6-saddle ‘whammy’ bar is primed for wild Hendrix-style wailing!

Sound

The ST2 has one humbucker and two single-coil pickups – the parts of the guitar that take the sound of the strings and directs it into an amp. The humbucker, which is closest to the bridge of the guitar, produces a thick powerful tone perfect for punchy rhythm playing or rip-roaring leads. The single-coils are bright and articulate, perfect for melodic rhythm parts and crisp, dynamic lead lines.

There are loads of sounds to explore because you’re able to switch between and interchange the pickup combinations. Perfect for players who want to play lots of styles of music.

You might be wondering what the protruding handle is coming out of the bridge. This tremolo or ‘whammy’ bar as it’s commonly known, lets you change the note of the string without moving your left hand. You can get extremely creative with the tremolo.

Looks

Almost every guitarist has played or owned an S-style guitar, be it one suited to blues, folk, jazz or metal. The double-cutaway makes it extremely easy to get your left hand up to the highest of the 22 frets. These are the thin metal bars across the fingerboard. The more you have, the more notes you can play.

Stuff About Electric Guitars

Electric guitars use magnetic pickups to convert string vibration into an electrical signal, allowing the sound to be shaped through amplifiers and effects. Key things to understand include body shape, pickup type, neck profile, scale length and bridge design, as these all affect tone, feel and sustain. They are used across almost every modern genre, from clean and expressive to high-gain and aggressive styles, making them one of the most versatile instruments available.

Stuff About Guitars

Guitars cover a wide range of instruments designed to suit different styles, techniques, and sounds, from acoustic and classical models to solid body, semi-hollow, and hollow electric designs. Factors like body shape, scale length, neck profile, string type, and pickups all influence how a guitar feels and responds, making each type suited to different players and musical approaches. Whether used for rhythm, lead, songwriting, or experimentation, guitars are expressive, versatile instruments that form the heart of countless genres and playing styles.

Stuff About Solid Body Electric Guitars

Solid body electric guitars are built from a solid piece or pieces of wood, giving them excellent sustain, stability, and resistance to feedback at higher volumes. This construction makes them well suited to amplified playing across a wide range of styles, from clean and articulate tones to heavy, high-gain sounds. Their design allows pickups and hardware to play a major role in shaping tone, while the solid body provides a consistent, reliable feel. Solid body electric guitars are valued for their durability, versatility, and ability to perform confidently on stage and in the studio.

The Important stuff

HSS — HSS is a pickup configuration with a humbucker at the bridge and single-coil pickups in the middle and neck positions. This setup combines the power and drive of a humbucker for lead and heavier tones with the clarity and sparkle of single coils for clean sounds, making it a versatile option for players who want a wide range of tones from one guitar..
