Electro Harmonix’s Pico Deep Freeze Mini Pedal is the combination of the original Freeze and Superego pedals in one compact chassis. The Pico Deep Freeze can act as a sustain pedal to hold chords and notes behind you playing to manipulate your tone and create a whole new sound that has previously been impossible to do with your guitar alone. Not only does the Deep Freeze Mini feature all the same abilities as the original, but it also allows you to layer, adjust attack/decay speeds, glissando, and has 3 selectable modes: Latch, Moment, and Auto. For a small pedal, it really packs a punch.

The 3 modes allow to instantly freeze sound all with their own added twists. The Latch mode freezes sound each time the footswitch is engaged until the effect is bypassed. While Moment mode freezes sound only when holding the footswitch down, giving you total control of when and how you want to freeze the sound to be creative with your playing. Auto mode captures sound automatically each tome a signal is sensed above the threshold, giving you the ability to not have to worry about doing two things at once. All 3 modes cater for any player and playing styles, giving you versatility for a user-friendly experience.

Just when you think this little stompbox couldn’t get any better, it can alter your tone. By separating Dry and Effect volume controls you can truly blend signals from having subtle backing to all the way to a full experimental tone. The Gliss knob enables you to control morph time between freeze sounds that create out of this world soundscapes. The Speed/Layer knob simply adjusts either the attack /decay of Moment or Auto modes, overall layering the amount of sound you can freeze that makes impossible playing possible.
