Description

The E412XXL will take you into a new dimension of metal sounds! The slanted speaker arrangement provides the dispersion characteristics of a conventional 4×12 cab, but the straight housing in XXL format offers even more speaker volume, and thus the decisive bonus of super-fat low end and tighter mids.

Put simply, this means never-ending headroom! It optimally supports the mid-sized sound of an electric guitar too. Add the Celestion Vintage 30s to all that, and ENGL have built a classic among guitar cabs here!

Electric Guitars

Electric guitars use magnetic pickups to convert string vibration into an electrical signal, allowing the sound to be shaped through amplifiers and effects. Key things to understand include body shape, pickup type, neck profile, scale length and bridge design, as these all affect tone, feel and sustain. They are used across almost every modern genre, from clean and expressive to high-gain and aggressive styles, making them one of the most versatile instruments available.

4×12

4×12 refers to a speaker cabinet configuration using four 12-inch speakers, traditionally associated with large guitar rigs and high-volume performance. This setup delivers a powerful, full-bodied sound with strong low-end punch, projection, and natural compression.

4×12 cabinets are most commonly used with high-powered amp heads in rock and metal settings, where volume, sustain, and impact are important. They produce a wide, immersive sound that fills a room, but are larger and heavier than smaller cabinet options, making them best suited to stage use rather than compact setups.
