Description

The ENGL Savage 30 E611 packs the ferocious character of the legendary Savage series into a compact 30W all-valve head. With two fully independent channels, power scaling and a built-in noise gate, it is purpose-built for modern rock and metal players who need tight, articulate high gain and flexible stage or studio performance in a portable format. Armed with four ECC83 preamp valves and a pair of EL34 power valves, the Savage 30 delivers the touch sensitivity, punch and harmonic richness that only real valves can provide. From shimmering cleans to saturated, razor-sharp distortion, this amp responds to every nuance of your playing and every twist of your guitar’s volume knob. Despite its compact footprint, the Savage 30 is loaded with pro features. Independent Clean and Lead Gain controls, shared three-band EQ, Presence and Master let you dial in your core sounds quickly, while Gain Lo/Hi, Contour and Depth Boost switches provide instant tonal shifts for different guitars, tunings and venues. A tube-buffered serial effects loop, power reduction and flexible speaker outputs make it equally at home on stage, in the studio or in a home setup. Handmade in Germany, the Savage 30 is built for players who demand reliability, precision and a signature ENGL high-gain voice in a rig-friendly head that will slot straight onto any pedalboard-based setup or compact cab. Classic ENGL Savage Tone in a Compact Head The Savage 30 condenses the aggressive, tight and articulate sound of ENGL’s flagship Savage amps into a 30W package that is only 42 cm wide and 11 kg in weight. This makes it ideal for gigging guitarists who want the unmistakable ENGL voice without hauling a full-size head, and for studio players who need serious tone that fits easily into smaller spaces. Two Channels from Crystal Clean to Crushing Lead With dedicated Clean and Lead channels, the Savage 30 covers a huge tonal range. The Clean channel delivers bright, glassy tones that stay defined even at higher volumes, while the Lead channel offers everything from classic crunch to ultra-tight, modern high gain. Independent Clean Gain and Lead Gain controls mean you can set each channel exactly where you want it, then switch between them seamlessly with a compatible footswitch. Flexible Sound Shaping and Built-In Noise Gate Gain Lo/Hi, Contour and Depth Boost switches give you powerful tools to fine-tune the amp’s response. Use Gain Lo/Hi to match different pickup outputs, engage Contour for a more scooped or focused midrange, and use Depth Boost to add low-end weight and punch. The built-in noise gate, with rear-panel threshold control, helps keep your high-gain tones tight and controlled, reducing hiss and noise without sacrificing sustain. Power Scaling, Effects Loop and Connectivity The integrated power reduction lets you choose between Full, Mid and Low Power settings, plus a Speaker Off mode, making it easier to get great valve tone at different volume levels. A tube-buffered serial effects loop places your delays, reverbs and modulation pedals after the preamp for maximum clarity. With flexible speaker outputs, a line output and support for ENGL Z4 and Z9 foot controllers via dual footswitch jacks and S.A.C. port, the Savage 30 is ready to drop into a wide range of live and studio rigs. Key Features 30W All-Valve Power – Four ECC83 preamp valves and two EL34 power valves deliver authentic valve compression, punch and harmonic richness, giving you the dynamic feel and response that reacts to your picking and guitar volume in a musical, inspiring way. Independent Clean and Lead Channels – Separate Clean and Lead channels with dedicated gain controls let you set up everything from sparkling clean tones to tight, saturated distortion, then switch between them instantly for versatile live performance. Advanced Tone Shaping and Noise Gate – Gain Lo/Hi, Contour and Depth Boost functions, combined with a built-in noise gate and rear-panel threshold control, allow you to sc…

More info about this Product

Amp Heads

An amp head contains the core tone and power of a guitar amplifier without the built-in speakers, allowing you to pair it with the cabinet of your choice. This setup offers greater flexibility over sound and volume, as different speaker cabinets can dramatically change the feel and character of the amp. Amp heads are available in valve, solid-state, and hybrid designs, ranging from low-wattage studio models to high-powered touring rigs. They’re ideal for players who want a modular setup, precise control over their tone, and the ability to adapt their rig to different venues, cabinets, or recording situations.

Amps

Guitar amps cover everything needed to amplify, shape, and project your guitar sound, from small practice setups to full stage and studio rigs. In this category you’ll find combo amps, separate amp heads and speaker cabinets, covering valve, solid-state, and hybrid designs, each offering a different feel and response. You’ll also see modelling and digital amps, built-in effects, footswitches, attenuation solutions, replacement speakers, valves, and essential accessories to keep an amp performing at its best. Whether you’re chasing pristine cleans, classic crunch, or modern high-gain tones, guitar amps and related gear are all about finding the right balance of power, tone, and control for the way you play.

30W

Products with the 30W tag have an amplifier or power stage whose stated output is 30 watts. Wattage alone does not determine perceived loudness, clean headroom or suitability for a room: speaker efficiency, impedance, cabinet design, amplifier type and how the power is measured also matter. Compare the complete specification and intended practice, recording or performance use.

Amp

An amp is an amplifier used to boost the signal from a guitar and shape its overall tone and volume. It plays a major role in how a guitar sounds, influencing everything from clean clarity to natural overdrive and distortion, and is a core part of any guitar setup for both practice and live performance.

Amp Head

Guitar amp heads contain the main tone-shaping and power section of an amplifier, designed to be paired with a separate speaker cabinet. They let you choose different cabinets to suit your sound and setup, offering flexibility for home, studio or live use. If you want control over volume, tone and character without being tied to a single combo format, amp heads give you a modular way to build the rig that works best for you.

Valve Amp

Valve amplifiers use vacuum tubes in part or all of the amplification path. Their response depends on circuit design, output stage, speaker load and operating level rather than valve technology alone. Compare power, channel structure, master volume, attenuation, speaker outputs and maintenance requirements.
