The Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Firebird brings back everything we love about that unmistakable reverse body and headstock design first unleashed in 1963. Dreamed up by iconic automotive designer Ray Dietrich, the original Firebird was a proper game‑changer — Gibson’s first ever neck‑through‑body guitar, built for massive resonance and a killer look!
Neck-through power & classic tone
This refreshed Firebird sticks to tradition with a 9‑ply Mahogany and Walnut neck-through-body construction, giving you a rich, warm tone. Because the neck runs right through the centre of the guitar, the tuners, pickups, bridge and tailpiece all sit on the same continuous piece of wood, which means sustain for days.
The SlimTaper “C” profile neck feels fast and comfy in the hand, paired with a bound Rosewood fretboard, 22 medium jumbo frets and classic pearloid trapezoid inlays. It’s stylish, it’s smooth and it plays like a dream.
ProBucker Firebird pickups: true to the ’60s
Loaded with a pair of ProBucker FB720 Firebird pickups, Epiphone has gone all‑in on vintage Firebird tone. Built with Alnico 2 magnets and wired up with quality CTS pots, these pickups deliver the bright, clear, hum‑free chime the original ’60s Firebirds were known for.
And just to be clear — Firebird pickups aren’t mini-humbuckers. Mini‑humbuckers use traditional construction with pole pieces and a single magnet underneath. Firebird pickups are totally different: no pole pieces, two blade magnets inside the coils and a steel reflector plate. The result? A unique, cutting tone that stands out from any other humbucker design on the planet.Key Features
SlimTaper “C” neck profile: This neck carve feels instantly familiar and fast under the fingers, letting you rip through chords and lead runs without a second thought. It’s comfy for long sessions too, giving you that effortless “just one more riff” playability we all chase!
22 medium jumbo frets: These frets make bending an absolute breeze and give you loads of confidence when navigating the upper register. Whether you’re playing power chords or flying into lead lines, they offer a smooth, modern playing feel.
ProBucker FB720 pickups: Deliver all the bright, punchy clarity and tight low‑end snap that made the original ’60s Firebirds so distinctive. They stay articulate even under heavy gain, giving you a unique voice that cuts through any mix with ease.
LockTone hardware: The LockTone bridge and tailpiece keep everything rock‑solid, boosting sustain and preventing accidental slips when you’re digging in. It’s a no‑nonsense setup built for stability, reliability and big on‑stage energy.
Included premium gig bag: Perfect for players on the move, this gig bag keeps your Firebird safe and sound between rehearsals, gigs or late‑night jam sessions.
