Description

Originally dreamt up as a beefed‑up version of the Les Paul Junior, the Gibson Les Paul Special introduced players to a world of extra tonal flexibility. Instead of the Junior’s single P‑90, you got two of ‘em. Add in fingerboard binding and a mother‑of‑pearl headstock logo, and suddenly you had a guitar that looked sharper, felt classier and sat comfortably between the Les Paul Junior and the more luxurious Les Paul Standard.
Released in 1955 as a single‑cut model, the Special evolved quickly. By 1958, it sported a double‑cutaway design for far easier upper‑fret access — a huge win for lead players. Then in 1960, the SlimTaper neck and repositioned rhythm pickup arrived, making the whole guitar even more stable, more comfortable and frankly, more addictive to play.
Now Epiphone has taken that iconic blueprint and given it a seriously classy makeover. The Les Paul Special Double Cut Figured keeps everything that makes the Special so playable, while turning the visual wow‑factor up to eleven!
Premium looks, classic feel
You get a Mahogany double‑cutaway body, capped with a stunning AAA figured Maple veneer — and yep, the top is bound too, adding a touch of refined flair.
The SlimTaper Mahogany neck is built for speed and comfort, finished with a bound Rosewood fingerboard, 22 medium‑jumbo frets and acrylic dot inlays. Simple, elegant and built for hours of effortless playing.
ProBucker power!
This is where it gets spicy. Instead of the P‑90s you’d normally find on a Special, Epiphone has loaded this model with a pair of their acclaimed ProBucker humbuckers:

ProBucker 2 (neck): Warm, expressive and vintage‑
ProBucker 3 (bridge): Slightly hotter for punchy leads and riffs.

Each pickup has its own volume and tone control, plus a classic three‑way toggle that gives you all the tonal versatility you could want — from smooth cleans to snarling rock tones.
Ready to hit the road
To top it all off, the Les Paul Special Double Cut Figured ships in a premium gig bag, so it’s ready for rehearsals, gigs or just showing off to your mates!Key Features
AAA figured Maple veneer top: Gives the guitar a premium, boutique look that punches way above its price. Under stage lights it positively comes alive, adding that extra bit of swagger every time you strap in.
‘60s SlimTaper neck profile: This neck carve feels instantly comfortable, giving you that quick, effortless playability the early ’60s Gibsons were known for. Whether you’re chugging rhythm parts or ripping through lead lines, it keeps your hands fresh and fast for hours of playing.
22 medium jumbo frets: These frets make bending an absolute breeze and give you loads of confidence when navigating the upper register. Whether you’re playing power chords or flying into lead lines, they offer a smooth, modern playing feel.
ProBucker 2 & 3 pickups: This dynamic duo dishes out rich, vintage‑voiced clarity with all the punch and warmth you’d expect from classic humbuckers. From sweet cleans to roaring leads, they deliver a wide tonal palette that’s ready for any genre you throw at it.
LockTone hardware: The LockTone bridge and tailpiece keep everything rock‑solid, boosting sustain and preventing accidental slips when you’re digging in. It’s a no‑nonsense setup built for stability, reliability and big on‑stage energy.
Included premium gig bag: Lightweight, durable and ready for the road, this gig bag keeps your Special Double Cut safe between rehearsals, gigs and late‑night jams. It’s the ideal grab‑and‑go companion for players who are always on the move.
