Epiphone Quality

Epiphone are a well respected guitar brand. They are the sister company to Gibson who are the designers and makers of iconic guitars like the Les Paul, SG, V and Explorer. All of their years of experience has been fed down in to Epiphone to make sure you are getting the best guitar possible for the money. Epiphone have been making guitars since 1873 so they know what they are doing.

Humbucking Pickups

The pickups in this guitar have been designed to capture a lot of that classic Les Paul tone. These are great for blues, rock and metal players starting out. Compared to single coils in general they sound a lot better with distortion and produce a lot less background noise making it easier to hear what you are playing when you lay on the gain.

Here’s what Epiphone say about the Les Paul Special VE

Epiphone introduces the new Les Paul Special VE (Vintage Edition) electric guitar featuring the classic Les Paul profile with a lightweight Poplar body.  The Les Paul Special VE is powered by Epiphone Open Coil humbuckers and is available in beautiful new “Vintage Worn” color finishes including Cherry, Ebony, Heritage Cherry Sunburst, Vintage Sunburst, and Walnut.  The Les Paul Special VE is available only at select retailers. See your nearest Authorized Epiphone Dealer for details.

For decades, the Les Paul Special has been one of Epiphone’s best selling electric guitars. And the new Les Paul Special VE-inspired by the Les Paul, the greatest electric guitar in rock-continues the tradition of giving new both players and pros a real Les Paul at a price anyone can afford.

Electric Guitars

Electric guitars use magnetic pickups to convert string vibration into an electrical signal, allowing the sound to be shaped through amplifiers and effects. Key things to understand include body shape, pickup type, neck profile, scale length and bridge design, as these all affect tone, feel and sustain. They are used across almost every modern genre, from clean and expressive to high-gain and aggressive styles, making them one of the most versatile instruments available.

Electric Guitar

Les Paul

A Les Paul is a solid body electric guitar known for its thick, powerful tone, strong sustain, and classic single-cutaway shape. It is commonly associated with warm, rich sounds and is well suited to rock, blues, jazz, and heavier styles, thanks to its mahogany body, carved top, and typically humbucker-loaded pickups that deliver depth, punch, and smooth overdrive characteristics.

Sunburst

Sunburst refers to a classic guitar finish that fades from a darker edge to a lighter centre, showcasing the natural beauty of the wood beneath. It’s one of the most recognisable and timeless looks in guitar design, adding depth, warmth, and vintage character to any instrument. Available in styles like two-tone, three-tone, and cherry sunburst, each variation brings its own personality and flair. Whether on an acoustic or electric guitar, a sunburst finish captures that perfect blend of tradition and style, making every instrument look as good as it sounds.
