Description

Formerly known as the "ESP Standard" series, ESP's E-II instruments are expertly-crafted in Japan. This outstanding Eclipse model has it all — the comfortable single-cutaway Eclipse body shape, a set of Fishman Fluence Modern humbucker pickups, and a Floyd Rose Original locking tremolo that's been upgraded with stainless steel screws!

Built at the traditional 24.75" scale with a set-thru construction for smooth, fast access to the highest frets — this E-II Eclipse FR also has a Mahogany body with a figured quilted Maple top, a Mahogany neck, and an Ebony fingerboard with pearloid ESP flag inlays and 22 extra-jumbo stainless steel frets. The back of the neck is satin-finished for an ultra-smooth playing feel too.

Other premium features include black hardware, Gotoh locking tuners, ESP strap locks, and a set of Fishman Fluence Modern Humbucker active pickups with individual volume knobs and a push/pull control on the tone knob to select pickup voicings. An ESP deluxe hardshell case is included.

Key Features

  • Mahogany Body with Quilted Maple Top — Mahogany is a rich-sounding tonewood that gives the instrument a warm mid-range quality, adorned with a beautiful quilted Maple top!
  • Set-Thru Construction — Yields massive sustain and enables smooth, unhindered access to the higher frets; especially with the contoured heel.
  • Thin "U" Neck Profile — Lean shape is suited for performance-minded players who prioritise both comfort and speed.
  • Ebony Fingerboard — Dark and silky material, featuring a 12" radius and 22 frets.
  • X-Jumbo Stainless Steel Frets — Resistant to corrosion for life-long performance. Wide and tall fret-wire provides a quick response and effortless articulation when playing chords or single notes.
  • Fishman Fluence Modern Pickups — These versatile multi-voice humbuckers serve up a host of aggressive tones and are optimised for high-gain playing. Each pickup's second voicing can be activated via a push/pull function on the tone knob.
  • Floyd Rose Tremolo — Dip and dive-bomb to your heart's content without losing tune. Recessed design allows you to pull up on the bar to raise the pitch too, as well as create choatic "flutter" effects!
  • Gotoh Locking Tuners — Guarantee superior tuning stability and make string changes fast and simple!

More info about this Product

Electric Guitars

Electric guitars use magnetic pickups to convert string vibration into an electrical signal, allowing the sound to be shaped through amplifiers and effects. Key things to understand include body shape, pickup type, neck profile, scale length and bridge design, as these all affect tone, feel and sustain. They are used across almost every modern genre, from clean and expressive to high-gain and aggressive styles, making them one of the most versatile instruments available.

Burst

A burst finish refers to a guitar finish where the colour gradually fades from a darker outer edge to a lighter centre. This technique highlights the natural grain of the wood while giving the instrument depth and visual character, making each guitar look slightly different.

Common on both electric and acoustic guitars, burst finishes range from classic sunburst styles to modern colour variations. They are popular because they combine a traditional look with a visually striking appearance that complements the shape and craftsmanship of the guitar.
